Well, the rap isn't selling me on it. Doesn't hold a candle to the DK rap - relies far too much on repetition, and has to string out a rap of the same length for two characters instead of five.Yoshi178 said:

It's just a really lame rendition of the DK 64 Rap with the guy voicing it sounding really bored and the music flat in comparison to the original. I wonder why they didn't go for a homage to the Banjo-Kazooie instrumental opening considering it's what Yooka-Layle is paying homage to.
I didn't like Banjo-Kazooie, so I'm not excited by this game. I hope it turns out to be good for people who want it, but for me I'm not bothered.
The only thing I dislike is the charcaters I am playing as, and i have no idea why?
I like playing with Mario, DK, Conker, Banjo, Crash, Spyro, heck even Gex and Sonic, but for some reason I just don't like Yooka Laylee?

Keep in mind Jim Sterling has already promised he's going to gut this game. Apparently its terribly optimized, stutters, and its just plain shit.

I kinda don't. I've only agreed with two reviews of his. I'll get it but not open it since my copy of Persona 5 arrives the same day. If it's something that can be patched out(like some framerate issues), I'll keep it. If it's another MN9 situation I'll return it.Silentpony said:
True but even if Rare also made DK64 why would they do something that relates to a different game than what they're paying homage too? You know they could've doubled down on the nostalgia factor by doing something similar to BK's opening and then having the trouser snake jump in and do a rock solo for laughs.bluegate said:
