Well, the rap isn't selling me on it. Doesn't hold a candle to the DK rap - relies far too much on repetition, and has to string out a rap of the same length for two characters instead of five.Yoshi178 said:Bruh...
Who else is hyped as fuck for this game? XD
Well duh, that's pretty much the entire point.Nile McMorrow said:It's just a really lame rendition of the DK 64 Rap.
Yes but why though?Yoshi178 said:Well duh, that's pretty much the entire point.Nile McMorrow said:It's just a really lame rendition of the DK 64 Rap.
To stroke people's nostalgia b*ner in an attempt to get them to like Yooka-Laylee.Nile McMorrow said:Yes but why though?Yoshi178 said:Well duh, that's pretty much the entire point.Nile McMorrow said:It's just a really lame rendition of the DK 64 Rap.

Which version did he get? Cause the PS4 and XB1 versions were outsourced.Silentpony said:Keep in mind Jim Sterling has already promised he's going to gut this game. Apparently its terribly optimized, stutters, and its just plain shit.
I'm not sure. He just mentioned in passing on his podcast, 'cause the embargo is still up, that anyone who pre-ordered it should seriously considered canceling.RaikuFA said:Which version did he get? Ugh. I'm considering. But I'd hate for this to fail and 3D platformers die.Silentpony said:I'm not sure. Well here's the thing. If you trust Jim's opinion and have pre-ordered, then maybe you should cancel. If the game turns out well, you can just buy it after launch and still support it. But if its a turd sammich, then you lose nothing.RaikuFA said:Ugh. I'm considering. But I'd hate for this to fail and 3D platformers die.Silentpony said:I'm not sure. I kinda don't. I've only agreed with two reviews of his. I'll get it but not open it since my copy of Persona 5 arrives the same day. If it's something that can be patched out(like some framerate issues), I'll keep it. If it's another MN9 situation I'll return it.Silentpony said:Well here's the thing. True but even if Rare also made DK64 why would they do something that relates to a different game than what they're paying homage too? You know they could've doubled down on the nostalgia factor by doing something similar to BK's opening and then having the trouser snake jump in and do a rock solo for laughs.bluegate said:To stroke people's nostalgia b*ner in an attempt to get them to like Yooka-Laylee.
"Look guys! Here's this thing you liked as a kid, we are doing something similar! Pay attention to us! We validate your childhood memories!"
Yeah seeing as it was uploaded on the 1st I think you're right. Though as a marketing tool it doesn't do a very good job at generating interest in the game. :/RaikuFA said:I think it was for April Fools.
