Alright, I did Some Searching and I didn't find any topics to fit my exact thoughts so I guess I'll start one.
As I stated above this is about the zombie apocalypse, I've always been of the mindset that one day science is going to royally screw something up and create walking, er, shambling, living dead creatures. I've read Max Brooks' books quite a few times and while I love them, I've come to a definite source for zombies. Nano bots.
These microscopic robots can be programmed to do anything, need to remove a tumor? Nano bots can eat it up without touching a single healthy cell. Dangerous Cardiac surgery? Not for those tiny bugs. What if they're designed to enter the brain, they eat away any and all parts that control the body and take over. If you've seen G.I. Joe (2009 Film) you may know what I'm drawing from. These people can continue to move and serve the purpose of the bots (Whatever that may be) until their body rots away. If they use the electrical signals from the brain to power themselves then they'll need to spread to "Healthy" individuals. Infecting them and doing their bidding.
Think about it, Zombies aren't what you should fear. Fear the Rombies!
