So apparently the support for used games demonstrated by Sony so far is gone down the drain. They recently sent a cease and desist order to the owner of Gametrade.pl, a Polish portal used for selling used games (sort of like E-Bay, but games focused).

Here's a link to the news http://translate.google.pl/translate?sl=pl&tl=en&prev=_t&hl=pl&ie=UTF-8&u=http://antyweb.pl/gametrade-odpowiada-na-zarzuty-sony/&act=url

I dunno, this one is valid but kinda weak. I ain't buying a console at launch this gen. The PS4 has downsides despite its reputation. Consumers lose some battles like free multiplayer on it too. Valve actually made me raise an eyebrow, but have too little information there to know what I will do. But, damn.

At any rate, this story could be a hundred different reasons why they sent it. It could even be a pushy law firm threatening with blanks they think are live. It could be related to a previous deal being sour. It could be simply to rattle them in the the business market. I am sure I am forgetting plenty. What country is that site in? It is definitely shady. But I'll doubt it for now as I only see it as 50/50.

It's because unlike legitimate trade stores like EBGames and Gamestop, Gametrade is a website that does nothing to prevent the piracy of games.

Well, nothing besides some line in an EULA that nobody reads telling users "piracy is bad, we don't allow it" as is typical, but they even admit in their response they do nothing to enforce users.

It's just Sony trying to crack down on a website known for piracy, no worries.
