There's Another You! But...

You wake up tomorrow, and what do you find in your bed? You. You wake up in bed next to yourself. You have no clue how he/you got there, but the fact still stands: you have a double! Everyone's secret dream come true! You both go through the next week without incident (well, "without incident" as much as you could with a double.)

Then everything goes wrong. After the week, you are in your home and turn around to find some scraggly old man wearing a cloak and leaning on a large wooden staff staring at you. Before you can say anything, he tells you that in 24 hours, the spell which has caused your double to appear will end, at which point, one of you will die. There will be a 50/50 chance as to which one dies, you or your double. Unless you kill your double. If you kill him, there will be a 15% chance that you will still die in 24 hours, but that's still a 35% improvement in survival chances. Before you can ask the old man anything, he disappears.

The question is two-fold:

1) The always fun: What would you do with your double during the first seven days?

2) The not-so fun: What would you do on the eighth day? Though be careful: Your double has the same choice that you have.

Question: how like unto the original is the doppelganger? Physically and personality only? Or memories, mannerisms, and miniscule features down to the calluses on his/her feet?!

They're an exact copy. From their perspective, they are the original. You can spend two days arguing about who the original is if you cared enough.

Anyway, I don't think we'd end up doing anything except doing journal write-ups! =P

But, on the eighth day, we'd've probably decided which one of us was to die on the first day (it's pretty much a race to broach the subject, first one wins... or loses in this case). *shrug*

I don't know, aside from 'take care of her' (not expanding, so don't ask) nothing much would be said.

1. I guess we just do stuff were I can't do two things at one like playing game and surfing the net a the same time and playing multiplayer's games.

2. I probably would leave it to chance to see who will who died. If the double is truly me there is nothing to worry about. Should I die he will live out his life the way I would have intended. Yes it still suck that I wouldn't experiences it myself I would wish the best of luck toward him.

I'd probably just mess with my friends, coworkers, relatives. You know, enter a room, leave, enter again wearing different clothes and from the same door as I entered the first time. The "Did anyone else see that?" reactions from my ultra conservative parents alone would be gold.

As for the 8th day, I would broadcast a fight to the death on the Internet with PPV. All the proceeds go to the me that wins! If we both die cause of that sneaky 15% mortality rate, well I guess I wouldn't know what to do with the money cause I'd be dead.

I wouldn't mind dying so much if an exact replica of me survived (yes, I know he wouldn't be a perfect duplicate by the end of the week, but it doesn't make much difference).

So... no. I wouldn't kill myself. Also, it's reasonable to assume that if I made that decision, the duplicate would make the same.

The first few days i would just play with "myself" *snicker like a 6 year old* and play some multiplayer games, do tricks with people and make my chores twice as fast.

The eighth day, I will not kill me and take the 50/50 chance.

I think we'd just mutually agree to suicide to spite the old man.

My double's cool like that.

I'd spend the week with my double hanging out and talking. And possibly snuggling in the most platonic manner possible. I doubt I could kill her, but if one of us survives then everything is okay.

If they are an exact copy of myself, I wouldn't kill him. Maybe for a 100% chance at life, but not an 85% chance. Me and chance haven't gotten along since Pokemon Stadium came out...

What would we do? We'd troll so extremely hard for a week.
I'd also send my double to half the people I want to meet in life, while I visit the other half.
Whoever survives, gets to do it again and go meet the other half :D

Basically we have 2 options.

Troll like a bastard....get into work, one of the stalls, you can tag team in and out for a few hours

OR

Try and organize the perfect crime.....I mean how hard would it be to in this situations.....
