These Advertisement Captchas are Bullshit!

I got one just there that said "Chrysler - use any words to describe this brand"
So I put two random words, and it gave me a "captcha error" and wouldn't let me post.
What the fuck? Am I supposed to go off and research Chrysler just to find two buzzwords to use so I can finish my goddamn post? And it's not like I deserve this sort of scrutiny in the first place. I have over 500 posts, it's pretty obvious by this point I'm not a spambot.

The hard-to-see captchas were bad enough, but this is taking the piss.

Pub Club Master Race!

Assemble!

Just use to 'cheese' to describe everything.

Cheese is the answer they want to hear.

I hate those ads that tell you to type something about the product down. I literally just spam the post button and eat CAPTCHA errors until it gives me a new CAPTCHA altogether. I feel like a part of the system if I comply.

I WILL REBEL!

Part of me likes them, the other part is opposed to them.

On the one hand, I can type the first word that comes into my head..

On the other, I'm feeding marketing. I hate encouraging marketers and advertising. :x

Now Daystar Clarion, the Publisher's Club sure sounds like a great deal at the low low price of $1000, which gives you HD video, a super badge, special content, announcements given before others, no captchas, no ads, a custom title, AND discounts on many fine products, but is it really worth it?

But wait you say! Act now and I can get it for ONLY $20 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/registration/subscribe]! I feel like I'm practically robbing the Escapist at gun point for such a deal!!!

Like most websites, The Escapist needs money. The new captchas give the Escapist money. While I agree that having established members do it might not be necessary, I am OK with it due to it giving The Escapist money.

I always find it funny when I see post like this because I like 'em a whole lot more than the old ones. I usually had to refresh a good 5 times before I could get one that I could actually read or didn't have forein keys.

Like others have said, throw down 20 bucks and you too can be free of ads!

I get those quite a lot. I literally just write "sucks". So far I have never got a captcha failure. Maybe you are just to virtuous with your answers.

Does anyone find it kind of ironic i have literally gone out of my way to reshelve items due to annoying ads like this? Seriously i remember one for Pepsi (not on this site) that made me put their products back more or less out of spite, i also remember this happening an ad on the TV ad for Office Depot or Office Max where people go "Wow! that's a low price!" and i due to this add intentionally went to the store that was not running said ad but rather their competition.

the "all-new Chevy Sonic" ad captchas suck!

But the multiple choice Chevy captcha was awesome. All captchas should be multiple choice questions.

Though they did make me compliment their product in one. "I can keep more with Vanguard." It feels like I'm being brainwashed. "You have to compliment us if you want to post >=D"
To be fair, Vanguard's an awesome company that has really low-expense mutual funds.

Strangely enough I just put "shit" for ever one and it accepts it. Plus gives a message to the marketing guys.

It sounds like they got to you >__>

But anyway, I didn't even know who they were until I googled it just a few seconds ago to check before I replied to you.
Yeah, they're not the sort of company you really know about until you worry about where to invest your retirement money (or your parents', in my case). No idea why they're advertising on a gaming website...

I don't really mind. It's a new form of ad revenue for the site.

Maybe it's just because I've only had to write something to the affect of "The brand new Chevy Sonic"

Whenever there is a "DESCRIBE THIS PRODUCT/BRAND" captcha appears I just type in "shit" and it works. I still think they should have a point in which captchas stop appearing in great numbers that they don't tell anyone.

I've just been randomly typing in negative comments, all of these have worked so far:

bunk
overpriced
overhyped
trash
shit

P.S. .50 caliber cow, that avatar of yours is disturbing beyond belief. Congratulations.
