So i just finished watching the Buffalo Bills season opener against the New England Patriots. I wasn't particularly hopeful, as although I'm a die hard fan, and have been all my life, I've sort of come to terms with the fact that they suck and probably will for some time. But then the game started, and they took the lead. Then they kept the lead into the half. Then they made it to the 2 minute mark with the lead. But then Oh No, the patriots scored a TD and were up by one. But miraculously, the Bills stopped the extra point! They had about a minute to march down the field, kick a field goal, and still come out with the win! Terrell Owens grabbed a decent gain, and they were nearing midfield. And then, as it always happens, things went to absolute HELL. Edwards got sacked THREE TIMES IN A ROW TO END THE GAME.

Long story short, which Team/Game/Franchise gives you a feeling ike mine, that they have slapped you in the face with their ineptitude right when you were most optimistic about them reaching a turning point?

I don't know.. maybe the England Football team in every major tournament?

But that's probably the press's fault for raising expectations higher then is reasonable every 2 years. Of course next year could be something special based on our qualifying status - 8/8 wins!!

Um none yet, all my teams are kicking ass. Yankees and Cowboys, both looking good. Tough loss though, you guys had the game.
Yeah I know, we always do and yet they always manage to f**k it up. Lucky you though, those teams are consistently dominant. You a fan because of that?

Packers are doing fine right now, but I have a felling that it might change. Aslo, I saw the game, I was thinking "Come on Bills! You had them!"
Oh yeah, Packers are pretty solid. How do you feel about Favre?

Resident Evil. I liked the first 4 games (Not 1-4; 1-Code Veronica X). I still buy the stupid games now, even though Resident Evil has been going sharply down hill since 0. And also it's starting to wear out it's welcome.

EDIT: Okay, before anyone starts attacking me: There were some games before CVX that I DON'T like. Particularly, Survivor. Basically, my favorite resident evil games were 1, 2, 3, and Code Veronica. And the fact that it hasn't been able to pull off anything remotely as good as those 4 in seemingly forever worries me. And it's not that I didn't like RE4; it's that they called it RE4. That was like, Spanish Terrorist Battle, not Resident Evil. Resident Evil has always been about zombies. There were no zombies in that game, only crazy people.

Naw, ive been a yankee fan since 1995 and a cowboys fan since 1992, so im definitely not on the bandwagon here.
Well that's good, I can't stand band wagoners. I've been a Bills fan since birth, as I live near Buffalo and my dad likes them.

Well look on the bright side, you guys played really well. Keep playing like that, it might not always be about bad luck.
Yeah thanks, hopefully you're right

The same when he went to the Jets; I don't mind. I think Rodgers has potienshal to be great, and the Packers need to focus on him. The fact that he is in the NFC north now is kinda annoying, but I'd like to see what the Packers can do against him. If I'm correct, they are playing next week in Lambeau. That will be epic.
Well thats good, seeing how some packers fans are acting about the whole thing i was beginning to think there was something in the water

Things that laugh at you are fandom? I'm a fan of good English.

As far as football (American) is concerned, I'm glad the Pats won since I'm a fan of all Boston sports, but I really don't have more than a passing interest in the sport under discussion. Football (American) is dreadfully boring to me. I prefer free-flowing sports like basketball, hockey, and football (association, rugby, even Aussie Rules).

In a thread many months ago I compared the difference between football/baseball and basketball/hockey/soccer to the difference between turn-based and real-time strategy games.

The Minnesota Vikings have always given me some Cringe-worthy moments. Who else could lose to the 0-11 Lions (not last year, it was some time ago)? And run the wrong way after recovering a fumble for a safety? But with Farve and Peterson, this year they're looking to be a real contender. But they've always been know for just plain stupid mistakes, so I can never be optimistic.

Yes yes, I fixed the title, Happy now grammar nazi? Feel nice and good about yourself? But I do agree woth you about preferring free-flowing sports, my favorite sport is actually lacrosse, a much faster paced sport.

umm, I'm a Red Sox fan... so everything before the 2004 World Series.
On behalf of Wakefield High School alumni everywhere (class of '95) I'd like to thank the Tanners for sucking at football and basketball when I was a kid, guaranteeing a great night in Wakefield whenever our teams met in sporting events.

Also, I've got a soft spot in my heart for Woburn...you see, there was this girl, and...

Yeah that was fucking unwatchable.

24-14

Hilarious.

Hilarious...

Simply hilarious, especially the kickoff return fumble, when he could have just ran out of bounds and kneeled on it 4 times instead of running into 4 guys.

And now the Bills have the longest consecutive loss against a team (The Patriots), 12 times in a row, last time they beat them was in 2003.

But all the games were bullshit like this, lol at 25-24.

Anyway, the Mets tend to always do that, but that's why I'm not a Mets fan, or a Saints fan for that matter.
