Backpacks were way more expensive then I originally thought. I thought they costed between 10-20 bucks; I found out later they costed triple that amount.

I actually thought computer mice was more expensive then I originally thought. I was surprised that getting a new wired mouse only costed me 15$ but now that I look at google shopping, I'm starting to think I just got a really good deal. My expected price range was in the 50s-80s but until then, the only other mouse I've seen was a 100$ WoW mouse at gamestop.

I figured the replacement parts for my suspension would end up being about $1,000. Nope, $5,000.

Speaking of WoW. 4 games later and paying $15 every month over 6-7 years adds up to a lot of chedda. Kind of a waste in hindsight but it was fun while it lasted.

Oh and I wanted to buy a Mass Effect hoodie. Thought maybe $30 or so but almost $60 and it's sold out half the time -.-

Bus tickets. I always have it in my mind that it'll only be about 10 Euro. And then its actually 20 Euro and a part inside me dies.

Books, everytime I go to a book store to buy a new book I always expect them to cost between £5 or £10. Then I find out they cost at least £15 or £20. And I buy them every single time. Goddamn Orcs.

Vending machines always like to play games with you because they set the price depending on where you are.
Some days you'll find one at $3.50 for a can of coke, some days you'll find one at $1.

I remember looking to buy a belt and finding the cheapest one to be about £16.
FOR A BELT.
I'd rather tie string around my trousers.
But I'm just classy like that.

I also find living to be irritatingly expensive, but I am rather fond of it.

Holidays.

I always expect them to cost a couple of spare limbs, but they never end up anywhere near the amount I budgeted. I've done this multiple times now, you'd think I'd learn not to panic.

I love watching Cake Boss, and I just so happen to live quite near their bakery, so I was like "I'm gunna get one of those purple fondant cakes with the flowers they always have! I'll just look up online how much they are..."

Erk. Like an 8 inch round is $45.

I still love that line.

Cheaper than I thought: Drinks on the Jersey Shore boardwalk. Mixed drinks for $4.50 at the Beachcomber? Hell yeah.
More expensive than I thought: Lunch on the Upper East Side. $15+ for a lunch? Fuck you.

I went to some bar the other day and it said "mix drinks, 3$" so of course in my drunken state I automatically thought that went to Long Island Iced Teas as well. Turns out it didn't. $6 each.

I've purchased a sword recently. Actually wasn't that expensive. Only about $100, including the sheath (plus $40 for other equipment). That was stainless steel. Carbonized steel (was described as being strong enough to cut through a car door) was usually about an extra $80-$100. Still wasn't as expensive as I thought.

Some college sweatshirts go for around $100. Bear in mind this school is in southern California, where winter does not exist.

Iphones

apraently here they are almost $1000.....

FOR A PHONE
That's almost 4 times the cost of my phone. Now I get the reminder why I don't need one.

OT: Books. They often cost half what I expect them to, with the exception of my text book in physical chemistry which cost one third and text books are usually the expensive kind of books. I guess the reason I expect books to cost more is that the books I buy most of are thick text books... I need to start reading some fiction again...

3 years of University was less expensive than I thought.
That doesn't help the fact that I have a giant debt to deal with, but I was expecting at least triple this amount.

Conversely, a night at the pub is always more expensive than I thought =|

Shirts. Even the cheap ones. You see it and you would think it costs like $10, then you read the price tag and, nope, it's $30.

Ooh yeah, that too.

With the changes to the loan system allowing part time students to apply and the revelation I could pay in installments I found myself much more relaxed about it. Yes it's quite a large lump sum, but I'm not paying it in a lump sum. In conclusion... uh, yay!
