Things that you feel like a jerk for hating

I probably could've came up with a better constructed title for this, but eh. So anyways to elaborate more, is there anything that people do, that's not particularly bad or mean, but you strongly dislike it and you can't openly tell them you dislike it because then you look like an asshole?

For example, I hate hearing about people's medical stories. They don't scare or disgust me, I just don't like listening to them. But I can't just tell someone whose telling me about their scars and surgeries and ailments that I don't give a rat's ass, no no I have to listen and say "Oh wow how interesting! Yikes that sounds painful!"

Any other escapists have things that people do that annoy you, but shouldn't.

I hate how Portal 2 got so much hype when it came out and everyone spoiled the entire game in less than a week. And now when I tell people I didn't play Portal 2 they give me this weird look. It's probably good since they made a second one, but I could never really get into it.

I hate when people that have a cold or the flu (basically their sinuses are stopped up) and they breathe through their nose. That sound of gurgling snot is very disgusting.

But what telling someone who is sick to do something, just seems like a very asshole thing. Therefore, i dont hang around friends when they are sick. Damn nose-beathers

I feel like a jerk for hating incredibly cheery people. There's this one guy I know who always has this enormous goddamn smile on his face. It just gets to me. Surely there can't be an actual reason to smile all the time? It's sort of obnoxious.

I dislike people that whine about how much they hate life and wish they were dead and the world hates them and woe is fucking me.

As someone said above, hearing about people's medical conditions. My gran has a habit of reeling off every ailment under the sun when I phone her up. She once rang me to say she'd had a heart attack ... my mum rang me 5 minutes later telling me it was trapped wind GET A GRIP GRAN.

To generalise, miserable bastards piss me off. I don't mean grumpy people, they can be funny when they rant about pointless shit I mean the depressing miserable ones. The people that could walk up to a rainbow and make it turn grey.

EDIT= I hate children and cheery people, and people who moan all the time, and old people, and teenagers (especially the vacuous ones), and uneducated people, and people with high pitched or nasally voices, I hate mawkish or overly emotional people. And so many more...

Whenever I hear a child cry while Im out for dinner with friends or on a similiar occation.
I ussaly never make a secret out of the fact that kids in general annoy me, but if its parents don't seem to care or are just too lazy/bad/whatever to DO something about the neverending cryfest, running around and bitching, I gladly go jerk-mode..

I more then once grabbed a specifically annoying brat that was running around the restaurant being a general jerk, pulled it over to its parents table and gave them a piece of my mind for edjucating the little rat.

Do I feel like a jerk for doing that? Yes, I do.
Do I feel bad for it? FUCK NO.

I hate hearing about other peoples kids/pets and how awesome/cute they are. I have a kid and a dog though and they are both awesome/cute, so I feel bad. I just don't think people think enough about how other people don't care before they pull out the photos and wind up.

In fairness, I don't really hate them, per se, just I hate it when people wax lyrical about how 'absolutely awesome, epic and unbeatable' they are. Having said that, no, I don't like them. A lot of what I listen to is not contemporary music, and even if it is, for some reason, I just do not like any music from between the 1950's and 1990's (and even some from the latter is just *blech*).

I dislike Nirvana, but I like Approaching Nirvana. =P

Now on that we agree- band im into at the moment have a song with the lyric "Though shalt not put recording artists on ridiculous pedestals, no matter how great they are or were" before going to list everyone you just did and more besides, stating "They're just a band", Id reccommend them if you like hip hop.
And never heard of Approaching Nirvana, listening to Distorted Glass and all I can say is "its abit weird".

I don't condone genocide. I don't think it's particularly pleasant that half of the world is starving to death either, but when some bastard celebrity starts giving everyone the guilt trip it just gets my blood boiling.
