Okay, I've been playing alot of Stick of Truth lately.

I did a playthrough with each class, so far got 41 out of 50 achievements.

and next thing I knew, this game even got me interested in watching the show, I spent quite abit of money buying what random South Park Seasons I could find on DVD.

But anyway, what do you think you'd like to see if we ever get a Stick of Truth sequel?

Personally, one possible plot for a sequel I'd like to see is perhaps a senario where the U.S Government tries to capture the New Kid again, and this time succeeds, prompting the Main Boys to work together to rescue their friend from being turned into a weapon.

So, you know, something of a Gat Out Of Hell-esique plot.

That plot could even lead up to a final boss fight where the boys have to fight the New Kid himself, who's been mind-controlled into fighting his friends by government agents, prompting the boys spend much of the fight trying to help the New Kid break free of the government's grip on him.

The visuals and writing are basically perfect. They just need to refine the combat system. It was too shallow and incredibly easy to break.

I'd actually enjoy having Wendy as a playable character.
And more places to explore and travel, like the North Pole, the Middle East, China and/or Japan, London and visit Zombie Pip.

There's so much more they can do with the canon!

yeah, I've been thinking about that, I think one way to solve this could be to remove the equipment patch feature and make each armor set, or maybe even the classes get very broad strengths and weaknesses, and since Stan and the other party members all already have a diverse set of abilities that could easily make up for any of the New Kid's weaknesses if they went that route, so adjusting the combat system to put more emphasis on teamwork may be a good way to go.

Well I'm in the camp of hoping they try something different for the next game.

Though one thing bothered me about The Stick of Truth the inability to play as a girl, seriously that's something they really need to address.

While I certainly would have loved to be able to play as a girl (whenever gender of the protagonist is a choice in games, I almost always choose female), there are a few rather large pieces of the plot that are dependent upon the protagonist being a boy.

That and the kids are strongly divided by their sex, as kids that age usually are. I cannot think of a single episode where the boys played with girls without the interaction being the focus of the episode.

That being one of the large pieces of the plot that I was referring to. :p

Indeed, one has to keep in mind that they're 4th grade children...regardless of what their vocabulary would have you believe. As such, little boys still think that girls are icky with cooties and girls think that boys are equally gross and obnoxious. This is why it's such a big deal when they send you as a diplomat to try and get the girls to ally with you.

SPOILERS UNDERNEATH!

I quit playing this game around the time I nearly got crushed to death by my own dad's balls while I was dealing with the underwear gnomes.

Now, I know South Park's humor revolves around crossing as many lines as they possibly can, and normally I love them for it. But I just didn't find this segment particularly funny, just...squicky. I couldn't get back into the game afterwards.

By perfect I meant that it felt like playing a South Park episode, not that it was flawlessly written. That portion felt typical for South Park style humor to me and it didn't stick out too much compared to other sections. There were a few portions that I felt failed as a joke.

Off the top of my head:
The Khloe Kardashian mutated abortion boss. That low-hanging fruit reference was a boss? Really!?

Make the combat more challenging.

Plotwise, If they'd re-introduce Coon and Friends in the sequel i'd be sooo happy. Silly superhero genre spoof(like Lego Avengers for example) in vein of South Park would be great.

Seems I am repeating what a lot of people already said.

Presentation wise, it is pitch perfect representation of the show already. Visuals, tone, humor, even the hit and miss nature are a perfect representation of the source and all the better for it. nothing need to change there.

Story and plot were similarly goofy, immature and perfect. Not sure where you could go for the overall theme to differentiate things the next time, but I am sure they could figure it out.

Gameplay was... flawed. Turned based combat was shallow and often felt like a slog. I think they would do a lot better switching to a more modern style of play in that regard. They could go more active rpg route, with control of the movement of the character during the combat similar to games like the Tales series. Or they could break free of the random battle idea entirely and go for a more Kingdom hearts sort of RPG feel and I think it would work very well.

The wandering around, finding things and even doing puzzles was great for the sort of game it was, as well as nostalgia of doing that in games again, and would probably be easy to convert to a newer style of gameplay.

As much as I'd like gender select, like others have said before, South Park is NOT really a great place for females, and I imagine being a girl in the game would not be pleasant, and might even require a separate plot.

Possibly a branching storyline? I know this would be difficult in an RPG, but having your decisions make significant changes to what is going on would be interesting. Possibly picking up the wrong item or fighting the wrong person opens up an entirely alternate chapter of the game's story?

You could easily make Douchebag LOOK every bit a girl - which may not be entirely the same thing, but at least it's damn funny!

I actually recently had a similar idea in mind; it's something I call the Influence Meter.

While it's an idea that may require the New Kid to start talking, it's a concept somewhat similar to the Paragon and Renegade meters in Mass Effect.

But instead of being a simple moral choice system, the Influence Meter would gauge affect the New Kid's dialogue and personality based on which of the main boys have influenced him the most by having him make choices based on what any of the main boys would do or reaction at a certain situations.

Say we get an example where a little girl asks the New Kid to help her get a cat out of a tree and offers a reward in exchange for the job done, the New Kid would be thinking; "Should I do as Butters would do and simply get the cat down for no reward despite what the girl is offering?" or "Should I do as Cartman would do and demand a larger reward for the job?" or "Should I do as Kyle would want and cat the cat down, but give the her a lecture on being more careful with your animals?"

The Influence Meter can even sometimes have an effect on how other characters interact with the New Kid, for example, a New Kid that's mostly been influenced by Cartman may be looked upon with suspicion, or even fear as they may think the New Kid may be planning something devious or devastating, which the New Kid can use to intimidate certain characters into giving him what he wants. or if the New Kid is mostly following Stan's influence, the New Kid will essentially have a 'Sanity has advantages' tactic when talking with people, being taking a character's quirks and eccentricities and using them to play them into his hands and make them willingly give out certain infomation and unwittingly reveal any weaknesses the New Kid can use against them.

A larger game world certainly wouldn't go amiss. Seriously, I wasn't expecting some massive open world, but a map that you can pretty much explore in its entity within the first few minutes gets really old really fast.

I really like the setting of the game, the style, the humor. Everything. But I could not bring myself to play it. And I have played many a jrpg to completion. Can't even explain it to you. The complexity that was there seemed tacked on, unnecessary and tedious. So I just basically tanked it. As a result I didn't have fun with it and stopped an hour or two in. Are you guys saying it was actually fun to play. Should I go back to it?
(p.s. I chose the jew class of course)
