Does anyone else think that in comparison to many others, this forum has some rare maturity when it comes to games, since being on here i have yet to come across a troll or a thread full of ps3 or 360 fanboys.

Well, we do get our share of trolls/flamewars, but less than everywhere else.
This forum is kept in order by a good team of mods, and people tend to follow the rules.
Those who don't follow the rules face the wrath of the mods and learn, or don't last long.

There are always immature people on forums. Those that hang out here are just a bit more subtle than elsewhere.

I like to think we're part of the 'upper crust' of nerds.

We get the intelligence associated with nerds, and the sophistication associated with rich people.

Sometimes, but the mods/admins can just run an IP check on them to see if it is the same person.
And, if things get bad, the ultimate sanction: IP Ban. Which is rarely used.
I believe they can also block vids/content to certain IP addresses.

Same here. In 2007 I followed Yahtzee from YouTube to The Escapist. While I used to only visit on wednesdays, I started clicking on the occasional forum thread and eventually decided this was the kind of place I wanted to be a part of.

I find I typically like the other forum goers here, even if I have a completely different opinion than theirs. Good discussion is always welcome. And if I can get that in an environment with respectful fellows, then all the better.

We do get the occassional troll.... sometimes also quite persistant trolls. But for the most part we are a good community that are fun to have conversations with. Most of all I like that there is this feeling of 'community' and that almost everyone here knows each other at least a little bit so it's like a small home away from home.

The only thing ive seen is the age old "Console VS PC thing", but that happens everywere, no matter what.

Which is quite odd when you consider how many of us (myself included) originally came here for ZP, and how similar some of his fans are to screaming, faeces-flinging chimps. You'd think we'd have more of those dudes around, but maybe they just don't have the patience for a forum.
