Anyone else ever felt this way? I was thinking about Resident Evil 4, and while it was brilliant, the soundtrack had all of the dramatic tension of a "Goosebumps" movie score.

Seriously, listen to the music in this trailer which fits the atmosphere so well and then listen to the completely unfitting OST below it.

Nier. I can't for the life of me understand why peoe praise the music in the game . Maybe if they made longer loops , but 10 second repeat with little change ( especially since it has large areas ), killed it for me , the first game i had to play on mute.

Gran Turismo 5....Luckily it is an option to replace the god awful default soundtrack with your own music.

Star Wolves, the combat music made me want to stay away from enemies, which doesn't do much for the gameplay.

While I didn't dislike the soundtrack overall, I have a feeling Half-Life 2's action setpieces would have been (even) more exciting if the action tracks had been as fitting and unique as the ambient pieces. Or as much so as this action track, [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlD5uvOt_Sw] actually. But no, a whole lot of them just broke out a generic electric guitar.

Modern Warfare 3. It just boggles me how much better MW2's was. I almost feel they should have included the option just to carry the MW2 soundtrack over and replace 3's wholesale; it would be a definite improvement.
