Starting with the first one.

Plot -- Chris, Barry, Jill, and Wesker are send to investigate a small town where everybody has gone missing. During the night zombies starts attacking the group but they managed to escape into a secret underground base. There would also be a few mutated B.O.Ws that cannot be killed so they must avoid them.

Later into the movie, the group finds out wesker is a traitor. His plan was to lure the group into the core of the base to combat Umbrella's greatest creation, the Tyrant, Ultimate B.O.W. Wesker releases the monster and escapes. The tyrant sneaks up on barry and stabs him, killing him. Jill and Chris cannot let such a dangerous abomination escape.

Chris than shoots the tyrant with his pistol but its no use and just when hes about to reload, the tyrant smacks the pistol out of his hand. Chris fights the tyrant with his fist, landing some good shots here and there but eventually the tyrant beats him. Just when the tyrant is about to kill chris, jill throws a assault rifle next to chris and chris picks it up and shoots the crap out of the tyrant, killing it.

The end

You're thinking what a lot of us were thinking when the first movie came out, essentially "why isn't there an alpha and bravo team stranded at the Arklay mansion?" Your last paragraph however perfectly illustrates how to "Hollywood translate" the video game fight with the tyrant into an exciting action scene suitable for film. I do wish the source material didn't end up...grabbed at random regardless of timeline and thrown at the wall with a mix of completely made up and unidentifiable plot and characters.

I remember being incredibly disappointed when the first film was released, it didn't feel like the Resident Evil franchise had been translated to film. However, I still thoroughly enjoyed the film when I pretended that it was a different film entirely or an alternate history/timeline for the series.

Needs more explosions.

I mean, come on! Rocket Launchers are almost legendary in Resident Evil now.

I think the movie directors moved away from the games because they didn't want it to just be a mimic of the actual games. They wanted to create their own story, but using the setting/some details of the games so they could use the franchise name.

Or something, I'm very tired. =P Either way, I like both of them.

No , the resident evil movies should have in no way been connected to the games . Other than with Umbrella . Having added character names from the game only made it extremely disapointing to fans . It should have been extremly loosely based off the RE universe.

In my opinion . Adding these characters from the game to ride off RE's popularity is the worst thing they could have done .

Not bad but why exactly would Wesker lead a bunch of people into a secret lab just to have them killed. The whole thing seems like a waste of a time. He should need a reason to go down there and a reason why he cannot go alone as well as a reason he couldn't have just done gotten what he needed down their prior to the zombies.

What is the point in making a film of what would essentially be the first game's plot? The first film was decent, and at least it tried to distance itself from the canon. Why any film-maker would want to use Capcom's --literally the worst story writers of all time-- plot as a creative diving board is beyond me.

All I ever wanted from the RE series was to see my favourite characters brought to life and Nemesis was already in the second movie so job done.

Wait, Chris goes hand to hand with the tyrant and does pretty well? Sounds like a pretty shitty 'greatest weapon' to me. . .

I don't connect the movies to the games at all.

If I pretend they are completely different then I like the movies.

I titled them "That lass from Fifth Element killing zombies for reasons that have nothing to do with Resident Evil".

The title is a work in progress.

Personally I thought the first Resident Evil movie was great.
Great in the same way that movies like Mortal Kombat and Rocky 4 are.

It just had some entertaining sequences with the lasers, 'Your awl goin to die down ere' and introduction to many common enemies from the series.

I'm happy with the first Resident Evil movie personally.

The sequels that I've seen were entirely unwatchable and couldn't be enjoyed on any level.
They try to step it up but all we got was boredom combined with very little story progression.

I feel that this particular link; http://www.cracked.com/blog/6-reasons-resident-evil-movies-are-better-than-games/
is very fitting here. The first Resident Evil movie was fine, good soundtrack and decent action and suspense.

So you wanted it more like the story of the first game? Ok. I actually liked what they did with the first Resident Evil movie. Not that it was an especially good movie, but it took just enough from the games to make it recognizable(ish) as a Resident Evil property, but still managed to do its own thing.

I was super disappointed when the second movie came out and tried to smash the tweaked setting of the first movie into the plot of the third game. Basically taking what was interesting about the first movie and then going "nevermind, let's stick to the games". Haven't seen any of the others, so I don't know how it's gone from there.

Resident Evil is known for two things.

1. Rocket Launchers killing the big unkillable monster of the week.

2. Helicopter Pilots do not survive. NO EXCEPTIONS. Well, except for Night Hawk, I suppose. He survived. And Leon. And Ada. Although those two don't really...

I'll put it this way: If you see a helicopter, there's a really, REALLY high chance of it exploding and/or crashing in the next five minutes.

Something I wrote about what kind of a RE-movie I'd personally like to see back when Afterlife came out:

1)Take the story of a Re game and adapt it to film more or less directly. My choice for that would be RE2, since it has in my opinion the best story-line (although not the most hilarious). If you went with that, it would be more serious with the Birkin family and the tragedy of that and the Raccoon city, and would work best as a horror movie. The fans would know what's going to happen, but maybe not what storyline they follow exactlt, and it could differ somewhat, for example giving Ben a bigger part.

2) Parodying the series. Just embrace the silliness and make a full-out parody with magic herbs, puzzle guests and journals. It could still have kick-ass action and even drama, think about Shawn of the dead . This would very much be the movie for the fans, with a lot of references to the games and that would make it a hard sell for the studios that would rather go with something they can sell to people who don't know anything about Resident Evil and just want to see an action/horror flick.

3) A sidestory that focuses on minor or new characters. Kinda what they did with the first movie, but with more relevance to the series and with a better plot. For example follow a group of survivors that fight their way out of Raccoon city, with allusions to the games. Kinda like Outbreak .

4) Make movie that fill a gap between the games. Like Degeneration. But something with some relevance, please. This series has so many loose ends you could make a series of movies with them. Of course this also has the issue of not being easy to sell to a casual movie-goer.

Resident Evil: Damnation is actually referenced a few times in RE6 and directly caused the events of RE6 to occur. Damnation Leon is much closer to RE6 Leon than Degeneration was to...any other Leon. Seriously, Degeneration Leon was just creepy as hell.
