So you want me to pay another sixty dollars after I already brought the full game at sixty dollars, while accepting more Micro Transactions that will make me pay even more for the game on top of the sixty dollars I already paid for a new version of a existing game. The more I kept reading it, the angrier I got.

Atleast in the regular media, it's republican vs democrat. In the video game industry, it's bascally 70-80 percent mainstream vs 20-30 percent critics.

This shit is what will kill atleast the video game console industry.

I have no idea what this sentence means.

Anyway, joke's on them. I won't even buy GTA 5 once!

It is really ridiculous how they expect you to pay for a game you already bought that came out a year ago for a new game price

So....a gaming website previews the upgraded version of a game that you may or may not already have and that's the shit that will kill the industry; a gaming website doing it's job?

It's not gamespot's fault that Rockstar is releasing a upgraded version of the game on a new system and there's absolutely nothing wrong with Rockstar releasing a upgraded version of their product on a new system for those that wish to purchase it.

Unless you can give me an actual reason why either of these two have done something wrong, I'm going to go ahead and just shake my head at someone making a mountain out of...well...it's not even a mole hill; it's business as usual.

In fact, it's not even Gamespot's fault that Take-Two are expecting people to buy GTA V again at 'full price'. Literally all they're doing is reporting on the things a guy said. They're not condoning or condemning it; they're taking the vaunted "neutral" ground that people seem to want games journalism to take these days.

So... what's the problem, again?

(Rhetorical question, I know that the problem is actually "People aren't saying what I want them to say!")

So, Take-Two makes big claims and suddenly game journalism is to blame? OK then. That logic makes absolutely no sense.

At least Mainstream gaming Journalist are more educated on gaming. I'm get so mad at stupid Fox, abc or NBC journalist who try to connect video game violence to real world violence. If country got less violent after the 80's and 90's before Rap went Mainstream I don't think any form of media can cause people to be violent.

Although the 2k representative is straight talking bull shit. GTA online was success. You penalized peopled for breaking your financial system even though the game is based around breaking the rules. You can't have rules when your game is pretty much anarchy.

I thought RDR and GTAIV were awful. I honestly don't care what Rockstar does anymore. I think they're utterly full of themselves and care more about ripping off Scorsese than making genuinely fun games.

Actually that reminds me, didnt Sony say that if you owned the game previously on PS3 that you wouldn't have to pay full price for the PS4 version?

So they delay the game for.. What, over a year now? Then expect people not only to (figuratively) buy that shit, thay also expect you to (literally) buy their game at the full 60 bucks..

If the headlines in a few months read 'PC-version of GTA V most pirated game ever possible' I will be the first to say 'I told you so'.

If I'm going to buy an apparently upgraded port of a recently released 'last gen' game, I'll make sure it's a fun one.

Eh. Please excuse me, I just got this game after an impulse Ebay purchase. I swear two hours passed in six hours. The opposite effect of most people, apparently. Also the game didn't save for some reason and now I have to redo a segment...or I'll just go back to something fun and interesting. Though their respective games are far from perfect, I'd rather spend time in Kamurocho or Hong Kong. Or the location du weekend of the Way of the Samurai series.

Chop's introduction really rubbed me the wrong way as well. And that stupid Ifruit pop-up. And Franklin's idiot friend who makes me glad I always turn subtitles on. Stupid...slow-ass...clunky-moving...characters...!

I've only ever enjoyed one Rockstar game - Bully/Canis Canem Edit - the rest of their 'open world' games are often overwrought and bloated. (Compare with an overwritten novel or a mountain of food on a plate. May seem great at first but it becomes too much and even though you can always push it away that aggravation will stay with you.)

I know it doesn't matter to Rockstar but I'm just glad I bought it used and cheap. Back to the Bay of the E it goes.

So, an executive advertises their "new" product, and a web site is reporting on it; and that suddenly is turned into a "fuck this corrupt media" speech? And with political journalism used as the new "gold standard"?

Bring in the pitchforks and torches, folks!! We are not standing for this shit...

That was on a game by game basis, and entirely up to the publisher...

OP is also forgetting that lots of PS4 owners (possibly Xbone) according to Sony didn't have a last gen console so for them it is a new game. Not everybody played GTA 5 last gen so why would they mind playing it on the current gen consoles. Same with PC, since plenty of PC gamers don't have a console to play GTA 5 on it is technically a new game to them.

If people want to rebuy a game they already owned then that is their choice. I don't even see the problem with the game never mind how game journalism has anything to do with it.

Hmm it's good thing that i didn't get it on PS3 when it first came out as i was waiting for the ultimate edition "PC version" and i was right.

Now correct me if i'm wrong here didn't this happen already with Tombraider and the last of us?
People pay for the same game twice.

It's not news the mainstream sites would push for something like this.

There's a good reason to despise Gamespot, but this is not it.
Anyway, I'm not even going to click on the link, so to deprive them of at least one page hit.
