Since there was a bump from my original thread, I figured there would be demand to see my Steam game grid all updated and nice looking.
Here's part 1 with 152 games. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view_message/5340948]
Interestingly enough, the games I've been playing recently have been from indie developers or small studios. Right now, I'm ridiculously addicted to Reccettear and equally ridiculously terrified of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. A little while back, it was Dwarf Fortress and Minecraft, but I think with those two games, I need to take a break after a long stint. I wish those two latter games would get released on Steam
I want to continue the discussion on digital distribution though: Do you think digital distribution is going to pretty much exclusively take over how PC games are sold in the future (if it isn't already)? Or are there still a significant portion of the population who have really nice computers but paradoxically slow internet connectivity?
What about digital distribution on consoles? Why is there so much resistance from so many core consumers? I hear the argument about what if Microsoft or Sony go out of business, but console publishers are already purposefully obsolescing multiplayer modes for games they deem too old/too troublesome to update. Halo 2? EA sports titles? Chromehounds?
