Thoughts on Mark Ruffalo playing Bruce Banner in the Avengers movie

I like the idea of Mark playing Hulk in the movie though I do wish they had kept Edward Norton because I thought the Incredible Hulk was a very good movie especially when compared to the Eric Bana film.

What are you guys think about this choice?

I suppose to a degree the change was alright. I don't knwo what Mark looks like, but I heard one reason Edward isn't playing the Hulk again is his build. He's a really skinny man turning into the Hulk... Too incredulous in a world of super heroes... Shame, I suppose, but what can you do. We'll just have to see how it goes

I think Mark Ruffalo is a great actor, however I was sad to hear that Edward Nortan would not be returning to the roll. But I was also sad to learn that neither would Eric Bana a few years ago. I didn't really like the Ang Lee version that much, but I thought that Eric Bana did a great job in the film. All three actors have yet to let me down in any roll they have ever played.

I'm okay with it. I love Edward Norton, but I did not like his acting in the Hulk movie. So long as the Hulk is in the Avengers movie I don't care if it's Mark Ruffalo or Terrance Howard, we're not paying attention to the human counterpart anyways.

PS, I'm joking about the Terrance Howard bit, I don't want them pulling a Peter Parker and making him black. Bring War Machine on if Fury isn't enough diversity for you.

Good for him, I find I don't really care too much though. In my opinion Hulk is one of the more uninteresting comic book characters in the mainstream and I'm more interested in Thor and Captain America's portrayal.

I would agree that Bana was a good Bruce he was just not supported by the terrible script.

Judging from his performance in Fantastic Four, don't hold your breath.

OT: So long as the movie is written well, I'm sure everyone will be prepared to forgive a few flaws here and there.

It's just going to be weird to see Banner being played by someone else, when no other char got a new actor for Avengers.
