Threads are too long!

I constantly see threads that bring up interesting issues, and as a result I want to reply but when I notice the countless amount of pages already filled up with repliers, I can't be arsed anymore. We all comment in the hope that people will acknowledge our view point, but normally there is too many comments for anyone to be bothered enough to read them all or even reply back.

Any other views? Because I can't guarantee anyone will read them

Yes, it's a bit daunting to comment in large threads.
Tip: Try to read the thread (or just the last pages), and quote someone and discuss with them.
i.e. You don't have to try to start an entirely new argument with your post in a long thread. Join an existing discussion, or jump on someone else's original argument.

Of course, you can still just post something. Chances are someone's going to read it. Maybe some of the people following the advice in the previous paragraph will try to discuss with you? It happens more often than you think. Even more often if you make a good point.

If it's any consolation, if a thread interests me then after I have posted (or sometimes even if I don't post), I will keep on returning every now and again to check until it disappears off the front page. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does that, so the chances are that someone will read your reply even if it is on the 7th or 10th page.

I tend not to post when a thread has like, over 4 or 5 pages worth of comments; I just don't see the point.
That said, whenever I do make a thread, I make sure to look though all the comments. Aw. Even in my 621 reply thread o_o haha.

But yup, I know exactly what you mean man; that's the main reason I don't post so much anymore.
