While Miller obviously wasn't the sole mind behind Deadpool, he obviously had a huge hand in it. We have been hearing troublesome news about the sequel for some time, so I guess this is tangible proof.

Weird that it is Ryan Reynolds who Miller is having trouble with. One would think that they would get along.

There's more to this story, just not sure what...

I can't imagine what he and Reynolds would disagree on. They both want Deadpool to fuck the hot babes, shoot a bunch of dudes, fart, piss on a goat, make a joke about Star Trek and My Little Pony, fart again and that's it. End Credits.

What more does Deadpool need? A Patrick Stewart cameo? Yes, but they both already know that.

A brief cursory look says its about the casting of Cable.

So, I suppose if Cable's actor sucks, blame Reynolds, if hes awesome blame Reynolds.

That hardly seems enough to part lead actor and director. I mean what, does Ryan want Orlando Bloom and Tim want's SLJ?

Maybe Miller already unofficially promised the role to someone and Reynolds really didn't like that. It must be a huge hit on the ego when despite being the director, the dudes in suits pay more attention to one of the actors.

Ryan Reynolds seems to have a huge amount of creative control in the film for just an actor, so maybe that caused some friction. In Reynolds' defense, he has a huge investment in the film series already, fighting tooth and nail to get it done. On the other hand, he's an actor. The lead actor, but an actor.

And Executive Producer, so he does some weight to throw around beyond being the lead actor. Plus given how tied he is to the role, I've a feeling the studio wouldn't want to get rid of him since they would cop so much shit regardless of whom they re-cast.

Isn't the usual joke that "Executive Producer" is a meaningless title with no responsibility? I don't know how true that is; it probably varies. Even still, directors never seem to like having other people dictate how they make their films. Or maybe Miller just figured the one film was enough, while Reynolds wants to milk the franchise for all he can. Who knows?

Tim Miller and is VFX company did a lot of stuff for free, so I would say he has much investment as Reynolds.

It's possible, given the amount of chemistry and banter that Cable/Deadpool have, having an actor that Reynolds wouldn't be able to flow with very well, would basically kill the mood of the movie. As I understand it, the two of them are a very tight pair in the comics, at least as far as amount of interaction is concerned. So there is a lot riding on the on-screen chemistry between DP and Cable. So I could see Reynolds being firm about who he wouldn't/would work with in the role.

But, all that could be speculation. I have no clue. Nor do I really care all that much? I've come to realize that getting worked up over movies these days just isn't worth the emotional investment.

A producer is someone who actually calls the shots. An executive producer is just a guy that eats more food at craft services
Which is kind of ironic. And yes, he is a producer, not an executive producer. The producer is an administrative and logistics boss (unlike the director, who is the creative boss) and many times is the one that first pushed forward to get a movie idea approved... The executive producer is someone that puts money to make the money, or that the producers want to pander with a movie credit.

Glad I'm not the only one wanting a Xavier-as-bullock cameo
I'd rather Mr. Stewart showed up as his character from Blunt Talk, rather than Prof. X.

Now I can't help but imagine prof x rolling around yelling "JEAN! Where are you?? I need to spoon!"
XD Yeah, that show starts out fucking insane from the opening sequence, and just stays there for the rest of the show. It's definitely amusing to see an actor we most notably associate with gravitas, and serious Shakespearean theatrics, be a complete buffoon and ham, and apparently love every second of it. xD I know IRL he's actually a pretty funny and silly guy, but he's been typecast as Serious Guy Dad Figure in his movies, that it makes for a bit of a disconnect when you watch Blunt Talk.

Not to mention everyone else on the show are equally insane. Sometimes they go a little too nutty for my tastes, but overall I find the show to be most amusing.

My sister is an actor/director (amateur) but she filled me in on the "Executive Producer" shtick.

The Executive Producer's are people who don't do anything but get massive money whenever a project makes money. You remember the Olsen twins? Their parents got them both Executive Producer status on that TV show they acted in when they were children--and in doing so they were financially set for life.

Reynold's is smart to milk this cow for everything it's worth...I just hope he doesn't kill Deadpool 2 in the process.
