I don't know about you fellow escapists. But back when I was living at home, there were certain games that I felt extremely awkward about having my mom walk in on. And no, the answer is not: my penis, that was strictly multiplayer*. Some of those titles included an bloody little gem I had on my comp. called doom. Another was the PS2 port of Unreal Tournament. Lastly there was an incident where my mother walked into my room whilst my character from GTA III was having a hooker as a post mission dessert. All in all I felt extremely awkward being that people were either exploding or were simply the demons of hell...or that the image on the screen was that of a rocking car with a soundtrack of k-jah and moaning. But back to you; what were some gaming moments that involved your parents and blood rushing to your cheeks? Maybe daddy walked in on you watching your night elf dance, pants about your ankles. Or maybe you walked in on him and his.

*fun for the whole family?

It would have to be Unreal Tournament Gold and GTA San Andreas for me. Nothing quite like your dad walking by and overhearing a dropped f-bomb.

Most Jrpg love scenes. When in English the acting is so awkward I can't help but feel a little weird when they're upstairs near my room.

Once when I played No More Heroes my mom walked in while I had the Wiimote to my ear listening to the hot foreign slut talking to you via your cell phone, she was squirming and yelling some nonsense and I laughed, but when my mom heard it too I felt more embarrased.

Oof, harsh.

The fact that my mother is better at 1 vs 100 than me.
Ouch, my mom beat my ass at wii boxing by flailing her arms like she had palsy in an earthquake.

"You still didn't answer the question."

Nope, I turn the sound off or avoid people when other people have mics and an urban thesaurus open.

Mine would have to be... The Mass Effect love scene. My dad walked in and saw that.

I suppose he walked in on me and my ex-girlfriend, once, so the Mass Effect scene isn't that bad...

I was playing GTA:San Andreas. My dad was in the room reading a newspaper9

He broke the silence and started talking:

"So, uhm, son. What are you doing right now?"
"Playing a game..."
"And what are you doing right now in that game?"
"Well, I just robbed a store and killed about 20 cops in the process of escaping. Then I went to conquer some of my enemies turf and slaughtered about 18 of 'em. At the moment I'm being chased by the police."
"Good to know, son, good to know. I'll just, go to the bathroom"

That was a weird moment...I guess the "killed 20 cops" and the "slaughtered 18 of my enemies" set the mood a bit.

I don't have any moments from it being my parents. However, I was playing Final Fantasy XII (Don't kill me) when my grandfather came in and started too watch me play. He then saw Ashe and said that she was hot.

During my WoW raiding days, my mum would come in and question me. Questions are always the same.

"I don't understand, what's so fun about this thing?"
"Does it get you a job?"
"Does it earn you any money?"
"So you just go into a place and kill monsters? What for?"
"Can't you do something useful for a change?"
"Don't you have anything else to do other than sit here for 8 hours?"
"Do you even know these people?"

Nothing, really. My mentallity is "You don't like it? Get out of my room." Not that I say that, but that's the mentallity.

Hell, when I was younger, I used to find the worst possible scenes, filled with blood, gore, etc, and make sure to play that part jusat as my parents would walk in so that they would leave me alone.

On the other hand, I was always very grateful to my mom for knowing that M-rated games were fine for my at the time 11 year old self, and not worrying about it. She did ask, I explained, she said "Okay," she bought the game.

I was in a game shop with my mum, playing Schism or w/e on Guitar Hero: World Tour on the thingy, when it first game out...

she wasnt paying much attention most of the time, but when she eventually did... you know what she said..?

"You could probably do a lot with those fingers..."

then there was this horrid sort of very quiet, syncronised giggle throughout the room...
looking at it now, its probably that giggle that made it bad :p
but its always real nice to have your mother accidentally talk to you about fingering in a public place... thanks for that..!

Not a video game, but I once felt awkward when my mother walked on me watching the "Haloid" video. She walked in on the end when Samus and Kelly (I think it's Kelly) remove their armor, and she sees me watching what looked like two 3D women groping the shit out of each other.

Awkward.

Agreed, my Dad is currently playing Fallout 3 for insane amounts of time. He's always on about places he's found and stuff he's looted.
