I read tintin comics all the time when I was a kid. I can't believe I just know heard that they are making a movie on it. I will admit that something just doesn't seem right about tintin's face. It's just not clicking with me, you know?

I have no idea what this Tintin is, but that trailer makes it look like a badass movie.

The first thing I thought of when reading the title of this thread was Rin Tin Tin. I used to watch the reruns of that show when I was a kid.

I liked the trailer right up until they showed his face...now I will have nightmares...

I have fond memories of the books, especially when Capt.Haddock shows up.

I would fully recommend seeking out some of the comics if you ever get the chance.

edit: This is a pretty good article to read if you want to find out more [http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/2010/11/comics-college-herge/]

TINTIN! I remember the animated series, but I never really read the comics. My friends did, though, I'll have to show them this.

I took this very personal, as one of my nicknames is Tintin.

Joking aside, I enjoy the idea of a Tintin movie. And with Pegg and Frost? Nice. Nice.

I have to say I really love the unique art style here, slap bang right between Pixar and Beowulf. It will be interesting to see how successful it is.

All I remember about Tintin was that
1. There used to be a cartoon series of it.
2. There were comic strips of it on my French teachers wall.
3. It was sometimes incredibly racist (Damn you Cracked.com!!!)

I own the DVD box set which came with a making-of DVD called "Tintin et Moi". I've also read all the comics and really enjoy them. My favourite characters are Captain Haddock, Thompson and Thomson.

Tintin reader here.

I'm really perplexed about this one, really. Tintin's face has the same uncanny valley factor as the conductor's in The Polar Express.

Tintin with realistic animation just looks creepy and silly as fuck. Just look at the guy's eyes and hair, look at the clothes! It worked in the comics and cartoons (which I both adore with a fiery passion), but here it's just incredibly out of place. Uncanny Valley meets...freaky aliens.

About damn time we got a trailer, I've been waiting to see this for a while now. Tintin was right there with Asterix and Obelix during my childhood. We would go to the library before a big road trip and we would check out about half the comics they had.

I'm really excited for this movie, It has Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as Thomson and Thompson which makes it almost guaranteed to be at the very least somewhat amusing.

Tintin! One of my favourite series' ever. I own every one, have all the tapes, and read/listen to all of them once every 5-6 months or so. Needless to say, I'll be turning up to this, if anything, just to see what they've done to my childhood.
