To all escapists"THE VOID" any thoughts?

Ok so what does this word mean to you? The definition of void is a place of emptyiness or something that is invalid,the reason I'm asking is that I'm currently writing a theatre play based around the word void for a university, Physical theatre module.I have a few things so far but I'd like to read your thoughts on the word first.If I get a few replys will go into the details,anyway thanks for reading!

OP: Maybe, a man with no goals, motivation, wants, emotions or anything like that and people don't uncerstand him. Just a suggestion, I'd listen to The Beatles 'Nowhere Man' to get what I'm talking about.
