To all parents against violent video games:

It is not the video game's job to educate your kid. That is YOUR job. You are angry at the video game industry because you no longer feel comfortable using it as a baby sitter. Video games were not made to make more time for you by letting you dump your kids off on something so you could work on that big presentation for work tomorrow. They were made to provide enjoyment for youth through the means of simulation.
It is not the game developer's fault that your kid likes violent video games, it is YOUR fault. YOU are in control of what your kids play. They don't have a credit card, they don't have a car to drive out to Best Buy. And they make you be there when your kid buys the game. You have no one to blame but yourself. If you don't like it, spend time with your kid. Make it so they don't need external entertainment. Yes, it is hard to entertain an adolescent, but thats you job, thats what you asked for when you had a kid.
You are in complete control of what you kid plays. If you disagree with what a vide game consists of, don't buy it, return it, don't let your kid play it. Yes, your kid will be angry with you, it not your job to be their friend, your their parent.

...you're posting this on a gaming website.
Do you see a problem here?
Something about preaching and a group of people who sing?

This is to all the parents, not you, your parent.

Your words fall on deaf ears for two reasons.

One)There are people in the world who do belive that video games rot our minds and they are entitled to there opinons and

Two)This is a video game website! What kind of parent against video games would come here? Also the few of us who are parents obviously know video games are not the ones to blame for violent outbursts and are proably gamers themselves.

I don't think that any parents who frequent this site are against violent games.
And if you were going for the parents of users under 18...why? Unless they're incredibly paranoid, they aren't going to watch the kid while they're online.

'Not you, you damned dirty parent!'

I think you meant your. As for your speech, it is with little information for people to use, nor is it anything but the obvious for people that are on this site. Sorry bud.

More importantly, this is to the overreacting types who spaz out on every occasion in which a video game is not entirely placid. (And yes, you parents DO spaz out on things, especially you overprotective soccer moms. Yes you do, so don't bother yelling at the screen when you read this.)

um i don't see the point of this thread.........
The point of this thread is to state an opinion and hear other's responses.
I understand that what am saying is there really isn't a other side of the opinion here in The Escapist since its a site with tons of gamers and i seriously doubt any parents that are against violent games would be here.

Parents who are against violent video games probably don't let their kids surf the web or video gaming sites.

The point of this thread is to make OP look silly and dumb, Search bar QQ barrel roll /thread

This thread is pointless. Everybody knows that bad parents only take notice of people with above 1000 posts. Go spam the RP forum for a while and try again later.

Sir, your post was uncalled for and unneeded, it did not contribute to the discussion is any way, shape, or form.

Fine. I'll play along for the moment.
Assuming the parent does come over, then what?
They'll read a post, on a gaming website, explaining how they're screwing up.
I'm inclined to doubt that they'll appreciate that very much.
And then they'll realize that you're just some random person on the internet, probably a kid who has been denied the games they want in the past, and dismiss your post as useless.

Sorry if it feels like I'm just shitting on your parade here.

Its true: I am just some random person on the internet, and yes, your parent will probably disregard my argument. And while your point about being denied video games was untrue, I understand your argument. But if there is even one parent that even considers my argument, then I have succeeded.
