Too long of a free run?? (ACTA)

So ACTA is a huge threat to the internet AND free speech much more then SOPA was... but all this debate over the internet has got me thinking that maybe we had too long of a good time with the internet as it is, should the internet have laws and police in it??

If you were to stop piracy, would something like ACTA be the way or is there a better way for everyone

The idea behind ACTA was filled with good intention but unfortunatly it uses too broad terms IMO and could be easely abused, also it hinders developing countries wich helps the big powers to keep a strong hand on them.
