MY Reasons to be interested - not reasons to buy the game and forsake any current MMO you are playing. Guild Wars 2 has a lot of cool things to offer.

10. Production Quality - Responsive controls, user interface, and solid programming.
9. Music by Jeremy Soule - The man responsible for Oblivion, Morrowind, Skyrim, Knights of the Old Republic, and many more:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Soule#Discography
8. Content Scaling - Fight higher level content if you're skilled enough, go back to lower level content and scale down to it.
7. Dynamic Events - No pre-set quest path, explore the world and experience unexpected events and affect the world you inhabit.
6. Dynamic Combat - No auto-attack. Dodging, blocking, positioning, skill combinations.
5. No Monthly Fee - Micro-transactions will not affect character power.
4. Scale and Art - Huge world scale, beautiful artstyle. No flying, which encourages exploring and makes the world feel large and imposing.
3. PvP - World PvP (WvWvW) encourages realm community. Realms are ranked and matched each week. Guilds can hold keeps.
2. Weapons and Abilities - Quick weapon switching, abilities based on weapon types. Choose what weapons fit your playstyle. Environmental weapons.
1. No Tanks, Healers, or DPS - All classes support one another, responsibility of group success is spread amongst all players instead of heaped on Tanks and Healers.

Seriously looking forward to playing the game during the beta. I also made a video which goes into further detail http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBC_ig73aMs

Yeah I really hope Guild Wars 2 live up to it's potential. It would be great to have something new in the mmo area.

I think that the standard mmo wowish combat is just above turn based...

I played the first one but kind of quickly found it boring; it unfortunately fell into the same monotony of any MMORPG's combat system. Even more so when the "tricky" abilities (the ones that do something other than direct damage) ended up feeling more and more useless.

This is what drew me to the first game, it's why I'm certainly going to look at the second.

Edit - unless you count buying minis. I love those little guys, I still have a mini Gwen even though my account has been inactive for ages.
