This was one of the hardest top 5 lists I ever had to do, but it was fun doing, and I'm sure everyone will be challenged with it as well. This will probably change in a week as well, since there are so many to choose from, but here goes nothing.
5. "Nevermind" Nirvana
4. "Californiacation" Red Hot Chilli Peppers
3. "Good News For People Who Love Bad News" Modest Mouse
2. "London Calling" The Clash
1. "Dark Side Of The Moon" - Pink Floyd

Okay, first off Top X lists are frowned upon here as they generate no discussion.

Second, good list, though "London Calling" really shouldn't be so high.
Thanks for the heads up, first topic I started and now I know better.

Both of those Disturbed albums are awesome, but the moved down on my favorite list once I started getting into more classic rockish albums.

5. "Poet and the Pendulum" Nightwish (Doesn't really fit with the rest of the list =P)
4. "Invisible Touch" Genesis
3. "Long Road Out of Eden" The Eagles
2. "Madman Across the Water" Elton John
1. "Hell Freezes Over" The Eagles

As you can probably tell, I'm an old rock fan...

I'm sure at least some discussion will come out of album choices. You never know.

Ghost Love Score by Nightwish is such an epic song.
Yeah it is. I wasn't really a huge fan of Tarja though. Sopranos are not my cup of tea when it comes to singing voices.

5. "In Love and Death" - The Used (not really sure, only the top 3 are set in stone)
4. I agree with the Coheed and Cambria albums, but not sure which is my favorite... probably "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness"
3. "Deja Entendu" - Brand New
2. "startsomething" - lostprophets
1. "Is a Real Boy...Was a Real Boy" - Say Anything

EDIT: on second thought I change 5 to "Pretty. Odd." - Panic! at the Disco

F#A# infinity by Godspeed You! Black Emperor
As We Sleep by We Made God
Souvlaki by Slowdive
Amesouers Self Titled
Morningrise By Opeth

the problem with top fives is they can be very transitional. These are my current 5 favorite albums, talk to me in a week and I assure you it would be a different list entirely.

1. Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

If you didn't know (and if you don't, you lost my respect as a human being) all are by The Beatles.

I like your list. Californication and London Calling almost made it onto mine.
