Like I did last year, I thought I'd start a thread where, like Yahtzee, you can vote for your 5 best and worst games of 2011. The results will be posted in this post, along with the number of votes they receive. The higher on a list they are, the more votes they will get. The winners and losers will be decided when everyone gets bored of voting. You don't have to pick 5 - just up to 5. If you change your mind, post which games you'd change and for which games.

Not even trolling for the worst five. My reason for putting Crysis 2, Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 in there are because they were huge disappointments for me, and I'm a fan of all series (I could go on and on about this for hours). Duke Nukem: Forever was in there for obvious reasons, and I just threw Portal 2 in there because I almost had to kill myself I was so bored of it. Nothing new, just co-op and a stolen gameplay element from the freeware game Tag.

Actually the Tag team was hired by Valve to work on Portal 2. I can't help but despise the fact that you put Portal 2 on your worst 5 list.

I threw MVC 3 on there 2 extra times for 4 and 5 since I could only think of those three games as games I felt were actually bad, and it was such a disappointment of a game. That they rereleased a half a year later as an actually finished product, that was also announced right after they canceled Megaman Legends 3.

Disappointments:

Dragon Age 2
Crysis 2
(And LA Noire sounds like a complete fucking waste, although I'll pick it up for under a tenner on Steam when the opportunity presents itself, and see for myself)

What a waste! Dragon Age 2 felt lazy, whilst both games decided to ignore the pros and cons of their predecessor. Crysis had wonderful potential (and is unfairly derided as "just a tech demo"), and it was just bloody ignored in the second.

The worst list is heavily biased considering I only bought 7 games this year and enjoyed them all. Still, Zelda and Uncharted 3 didn't live up to their potential despite still being good games.

Those are the only games from this year that I've played. Not even five. There's a good chance Uncharted 3 would slot in between Portal 2 and Sonic, but I haven't played it yet. Deus Ex is EASILY my game of the year, though.

Edit: Need a "worst". Skyrim, I guess. Not that it's bad, but out of the... four games I've played this year apparently, I'd rank it lowest. I definitely don't seem to like it as much as most people do. But, I barely have enough time to play games that are guaranteed to be good. So, my "worst of the year" will always be something that's actually really good...

I played more games that came out this year but Skyward Sword and Duke Nukem don't qualify to be in my top five list. Don't get me wrong, I like both games to a degree but I'd never replay them as I would any game in my top 5.
