Torchlight II launching in September

Travis Baldree, co-founder of Runic, has confirmed the Torchlight II release date. Fans don't have long to wait, as the game is rocking up late September.

Ive had this preordered for a couple months i think, i forget about it all the time until i go through my steam library and see it, heck i was talking about it with a mate yesterday and i completely forgot the game existed until i saw this thread (just now). What i heard from friends was the Beta was awesome and seemed pretty done so its annoying to still have to wait another few weeks but oh well.

About damn time, too! I've been waiting for the real Diablo 3 to come out for over a decade. Can't wait to sink my teeth into this with some friends on day one. Because I can guarantee we will be able to play it day one.

Hahahaha I called it. They said they would release it in the summer and September 20th happens to be the last day before fall starts. Cheeky bastards. Still, really happy to hear this even if it's timed poorly with the simultaneous release of Borderlands 2.

I think they chose a terrible time to release it. The original plan was to release it one month after Diablo 3 because then people would be looking for something new, and I thought the reasoning behind it was pretty sound and that it would sell well. Then they kept putting it off (Which I don't blame them for not sticking to a deadline) until now, when they decided to release it two days after Borderlands 2. That is probably the worst possible time to release it. The best time would have either been on the 2nd or 3rd (since the game is done at this point), or if they really wanted to wait, then 1-2 months after Borderlands 2 would have been best; after it's been out for a while but with some leeway between TL2's release and the Mechromancer.

Meh, still doesn't change the fact that Borderlands 2 is the only game I'm looking forward to this year. Torchlight 1 was completely uninspired and nothing I see from 2 makes me feel it's different enough. The Diablo formula is extremely tired, as evidenced with how poorly received Diablo 3's "end game" was, the same people who are excited for T2 are going to be just as disappointed because they think they want something they really don't.

Well thank you for telling me my own opinion, but I am excited for Torchlight 2 because I tried the open beta, and just the 1st act alone was more fun than the entirety of Torchlight 1
