So, apparently for a few hours, Toy R Us canada had a page up with the Nintendo Switch on it. the price listed was 329.99$ cad. wich put the price range around 250$ US

Is it plausible ? at that price range it limit the components quality and power. what do you think ?

Make sense, most portable come out in that price range. It more or less confirm the rumor that's it's going to run 720p.

My Nvidia Shield tablet was $200. I can see The Switch, which I am assuming will be more powerful but uses similar technology and has a 720p display based on the limited info from Nintendo, being about $250.

placeholder price. nothing is confirmed. duh.
i know nothing is confirmed, but is the price plausible ? 329.99 is odd for a placeholder for me.

all i know is the Wii U was $350US at launch which resulted in it being $430 here in australia. the PS4 was $550 and the Xbox One was also $600 when they launched here.

given all that i'm preparing myself accordingly. i currently have $400 down on my Switch Pre-Order and i'm expecting the console to be $600 Australian in the very worst case scenario. so by xmas i plan to put down $200 more down on my pre-order and have $600 paid off on the Switch.

that way, the console more than likely won't end up costing that much at all so i can just use the difference i get back from that Switch Pre-Order to put towards Switch games like Zelda and 3D Mario.

Rumours seem to indicate it will have an X1 chip which makes sense.

It seems Nvidia have quietly cancelled their next tablet in favour of selling the hardware to Nintendo. Which is a shame, as the Shield tablets are pretty damn powerful for the price, plus the openess of Android (Emulation, fan ports etc).

The Wii U is still $300, are we getting a lesser console.
yes. we're actually going back to 8-bit because they decided modern parts are too expensive to use. we're stuck with 8-bit graphics for the rest of our days.

Nintendo will never ever improve the performance and picture on their console hardware ever again.

Why ask a silly question like are we getting a lesser console than Wii U?

it's new technology, sure it probably won't be a massive power box like Project Scorpio next year but the actual console being more powerful than Wii U is pretty damn obvious it will be.

i mean Zelda BOTW is already pushing the Wii U to it's limits and making it struggle. why on earth would Nintendo make a console to release the same game just so that it can continue struggling to push that games power and not improve anything in terms of the games stability and framerate?

If it's cheaper than the Wii U CURRENTLY is then it's not a silly question.

Not judging by the price tag.

Maybe that's because Wii U has to push to two screens. Besides, how the fuck do you know that BOTW is pushing the Wii U to it's limits.

why on earth would Nintendo make a console to release the same game just so that it can continue struggling to push that games power and not improve anything in terms of the games stability and framerate?
Why on earth does Nintendo do any of the dumb shit it does? Switch only has to push content to one screen and since the hardware is all inside a tablet that is cheaper than an iPad Air 2... It's atleast conceivable that the damn thing is not the powerhouse some hope it is.

PS4 was less expensive than a PS3 was at launch. that obviously means it's less powerful than PS3 going by your logic.

Also Every Nintendo console that's been released has clearly been weaker than the last Nintendo console that released. and Switch will OBVIOUSLY follow the same trend. i mean jesus. it's probably not even going to be as powerful as an NES.

let's just ignore stuff like this and continue being pessimistic about everything.

if Switch is $250 then it will be cheaper than the CURRENT Wii U price. Let me say again since you seem to be a little slow. CURRENT. Need it again?
PS4 is curretly and has always been about $50 cheaper than xbox one over where i live. does not mean it is weaker hardware than the xbox one. same applies to the Wii U and Switch. IF the Switch ends up being a little cheaper than switch at retail does not automatically mean it's weaker hardware. it only means they're trying to be more competitive with their pricing

your logic and reasoning makes no sense.

Are you seriously trying to compare two competing products from different companies to two products from the same company? You know, Nintendo isn't using the Switch as a loss leader either. Damn, you are grasping at straws now. You just don't have a good answer for why Nintendo's new console may be cheaper than the current price of their existing one. At the very least, you should be asking why.

Oh I see you went and reported me. We're done.

nintendo apologists are like that.

OT: 250$ seems like a reasonable price. i was expecting it to be more expensive. with the whole it being more powerful and all. but if it performs well enough im intrigued

Don't even bother dude. Yoshi got pissy with me when I asked about digital copies of N64 games because my house burned down and I lost my console and cartridges.

you want me to compare products from the same company now? ok then why are Wii U games much cheaper at $80 here in Australia this gen when in previous gens Wii and Gamecube games etc were always $100?

are my Wii U games of less quality because they're less expensive are they?
