I really have no clue how this happened. It started doing this about two days ago. Whenever I open my laptop and use it, the track-pad is disabled and I have to manually maneuver through the Control Panel (Tab and arrow keys FTW) to get to the option to turn it back on, and it's just a pain in the ass to have to do this all the time. I tried actually turning my laptop off and back on again, but that didn't help at all.

I'm using a Dell Inspiron N7010 with Windows 7 Home Premium, if that's of any help to anyone.

Also, little side note. Can anyone tell what the hell is the point of having the option to disable the trackpad on a laptop? It's just plain silly.

I can't solve your problem other than to say check the button on the laptop that turns it on/off.
I can however, answer the above question. Track-pads almost invariably suck, so I always used to turn mine off and use a proper mouse. Turning off the track-pad stops you from moving the mouse around like a crazy by brushing it with your palm.
