France in a MW game? Hoo boy. I wonder who was the moron who would decide to piss them off. I hope that they pay for it in that game's story. Big time. I hope France kicks some people in the arse in this game, even if I have almost no intention at all of getting the game myself.

Contrary to misinformed popular belief, France has always been, and still is, a very impressive military power. WW2 was an unlucky fluke happening after two decades of internal division and chaos.

As for why Russia is attacking them, it might be because France are the 3rd biggest military spenders and have about 300 nukes. Plus, they'd probably help Britain if it was under attack (no matter what they say) and they'd DEFINITELY help Germany out.

While I'd agree with you, many people said they'd help the US out before the Iraq war, plus considering the bullshit that happens in this story, they would smell it, know it'd be best to stay out of it. I know the series hasn't made much sense before, this just seems like they trying so hard to make a World War, it doesn't matter what would happen in real life. I'm convinced that if this world was as CoD portrays, we'd already be in the Fallout universe.

I'd buy this game just to wander around Paris mid-battle, but since this game will be designed to cater to Americans there's no way in hell the French will be portrayed as anything other than pansies. So balls to that.

Really? When? Napoleon? Unlucky fluke? (like spending your entire military budget on a wall that people can drive around instead of updating hardware kind-of genius?) Brilliant.

The most France has given people in recent times are reasons to dislike them, along with
other countries. I for one am happy that MW3 is blowing the crap out of them, care of a few russians.

The most fun I've had with french people in the last two years was spent in The Saboteur, and they
were only being nice to me because 'everyone loves the irish'!

I'm not very interested in it personally, but I like shooting around in familiar places, so if it takes place in Paris I'll give it a rental.

It is just something to get people to buy it, I think Amsterdam would be prettier with all the canals and historical buildings and i live in The Netherlands.
Or Brussel, would be cool to fight in EU capital.
But of course they do the biggest population countries first.

I don't know, I played Modern Warfare 2 and all I remember about the plot is that it was an outlandish and ridiculous story guided by right-winged cold war paranoia, so surely they will find some absurd excuse to attack France. Maybe a french cheese in bad state killed some of those random terrorists leaders with foreign accent that appear in this game. The russian nazi-communist that is allied with Chinese middle east islamic terrorists.
