I'm currently replaying Gears 1 and 2 in prep for 3.
Definitely looking forward to it.
Prescott abandoned the Gears right after the sunk Jachinto, but he returns in Gears 3 to help.MarsProbe said:Not bad, good that for a change they had Anya doing most (well, all) of the talking. All Dom got to do here was stare at that same photo and perform stock angry action #54.
What's all this about Prescott abandoning them though? I'm sure in an earlier screen I saw the Chairman himself kitted out in COG armour alongside some other Gears.
Anyway, got this one on pre-order, so will be getting it on Day One.
Hopefully those little skittering bug like enemies won't be too regular a foe. We've already got the tickers to fill that category, after all.
I knew it! People kept telling me that Prescott jumped ship, but I was certain I saw him in one of the older story trailers.therandombear said:Prescott abandoned the Gears right after the sunk Jachinto, but he returns in Gears 3 to help.MarsProbe said:Not bad, good that for a change they had Anya doing most (well, all) of the talking. I'm getting this from the wiki
OT: Can't wait...especially the new Horde Mode...that Horde Mode trailer was just delightful. Setting up laser defence grids and turrets...lovely.
Odds are he bailed sometime after the Anvil Gate book because in it, the remaining High Command (Hoffman really) turns on him because even after all of this, Prescott is still keeping secrets. So Hoffman orders Baird to steal Prescott's secret disk, and the book ends before we find out what's on it. So yeah, Prescott runs away sometime between then and Gears 3.Soviet Heavy said:I knew it! More likely she'll replace Baird. I haven't seen him on any posters and she could fill the roll of techie. I'm less than thrilled at this.Avatar Roku said:Pretty good. I find it a bit off that Anya is fighting when, in the one time in the series where we previously saw her in person, she was as small as a mouse, but still, should be interesting.
And hey, maybe she'll replace Cole. We should be so lucky.
Same here. Baird was an asshole, but that's a good thing. We need assholes in stories to break up the, to quote a certain other asshole, mutual admiration society.CINN4M0N said:More likely she'll replace Baird. No one is getting replaced. The original cast along with the Anya, (edit)Samantha, Aaron and the new C. Carmine will be in the game. The game is going to have a 4 player co-op(quad-op?) campaign mode and certain multi-player modes will be 8+ players (in contrast to only 5 players in Gears 2 Horde mode). Check the spoiler.Avatar Roku said:Same here. Baird was an asshole, but that's a good thing. Cole, on the other hand, is another story. It takes a lot to embarrass me. I've had a parent walk in during the Mass Effect sex scene and didn't bat an eyelash. I've skipped Cole cutscenes when I thought my parents would walk in. Or maybe I just wanted to skip but couldn't, it's been a while.
Oh, I liked Baird. But Cole was just such an unabashed stereotype and they were glorifying that so much, it just really bothers me.airrazor7 said:No one is getting replaced. Also, what is with the strong dislike of Cole and Baird? Sure Baird is an asshole but I found his smart mouthing to be entertaining. How can anyone not like the Cole Train? The Train is always a smooth ride. For me, they kept the game from being like, "Yeah we're serious soldier guys shooting big things with big guns, HOORAH!" Anywho, I found them both to be amusing but humor, like most things, is in the mind of the beholder. A lot of comedic content in current films just annoys me so I can understand the differences in people's perceptions of humor. Yet, out of curiosity I do have to ask, how were the scenes with Cole embarrassing?
