It looks okay, the mind hacking looks fun. But it just looks too much like Deus Ex:HR clone even down to the Adam Jenson gravel voice.

Well yes and no, this looks more like a shooter game ofc but the setup is different, thought yea there are a similarities (the feeling of "modern" world).

But anyway as shooter game it doesn't look very interesting. I don't know if it's because the guy knows how to play or w/e but that clip they showed looked bit too easy. There wasn't really any fighting going on, just guy running and gunning on Sunday. But that might be because it was just a run trought.

So this trailer didn't really got me excited about this game, not because it isn't the old good Syndicate, but because it doesn't look like a good fps game eventhought it has it's own gimmicks.

Anyone have any idea why I *always* seem to get "Stream not found" when I try and watch the high-res version? It's starting to get annoying.

The adrenaline idea (regenerating powers as you fight not over time) sounds good forcing a balance between self preservation of regenerating health and fighting on to regenerate the breach abilities.

Like Xcom, it's a sad spit on the grave of an old beloved RTS series.

Unlike Xcom, it seems to be a pretty good game on its own right.

At first I thought that the UI seemed ugly, but I think it's deliberate to give players the feel of information overload. If every level is like that it'll be a great experience (and I'll be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for bravely ignoring trolls).

Meh, looks lackluster if not average. The gameplay feels uninspired and the hacking tool feels underdeveloped at the moment. Additionally several gameplay and story mechanics are heinously ignored. In Syndicate and Syndicate Wars your health did not recharge on its own as depicted here, decades before the first game and thus in the presence of lesser technology. Secondly your agents are mindless drones, there are no mentors, friends, or motivations for revenge. I will give the game the benefit of the doubt but I am otherwise unexcited. Thirdly this game screams Deus Ex: Human Revolution knock off at the edges.

The game doesn't look very good, but I'll withhold judgement for the moment. It's a shame, I remember staying home from school to play Syndicate, I was blown away by it at the time. Also, the guy narrating, holy god, someone give the guy a sedative, his excitement made it hard to watch the video (/sarcasm, just in case you didn't understand). Though, based on this, it looks like another series bites the dust. I mean, seriously, does it really seem like a good idea to make EVERYTHING into an FPS?

Running mental commentary:

We can see into the Digital World? Can we also summon guys like Agumon to help?

"Your friend and mentor." ANTAGONIST. CALLING IT NOW. SO GONNA BETRAY YOU LATER ON.

Why the hell would an interrogation room be virtually next to the lobby? >_>

Hacking turrets within seconds. Way to make the game challenging.

OH COME ON! Security alarm blaring and the doofus testing the gun with homing bullets is just carrying on like nothing is amiss? Hide the important hardware, or at least ready yourself in case the invader comes your way!

Oh no! Drones with protective shields you need to hack first! It takes, like, one second to do so!

*sigh* I'm not impressed with this. At all.

1 minute in and I stopped the video.

This is Bladerunner, not Syndicate.

Possibly Shadowrun.
And what is wrong with Bladerunner? Hey, if it's Bladerunner in a video game with a Sydicate name coating...I'm all for it.

Honestly, what I'm sick of is them making remakes that are the same game, just graphically updated, of a game from the 1990's. Guess what? Duke Nukum failed! Bionic Commando failed! Bomberman failed!, ....remakes and or sequels are only good if they IMPROVE, not follow a 20 year old, outdated formula.

looks like a solid shooter but still not sure about it. has some nice elements in it like the gun shooting around corners and convincing people to kill others etc. but the regenerating health is a turn off again :( . also it looks pretty easy to hack or as he said, "breach" things. but well, its a early stage. maybe they will change things.
i keep an eye on it.

Y'know, the trailer from a couple weeks back got my hopes, but that gameplay really didn't look so great.

It was slow and ploddy and the hacking mechanic didn't seem to amount to anything beyond 'press X to breach'. Oh and hey, bullet time, whoop-dee-do. Visuals were, surprisingly, rather unremarkable as well.

I still have my eye on this, but I'm smelling a whiff of disappointment.

The high res versions are bigger and so it takes a bit longer to upload, or they don't put high res up for every video...

OT: Looks like the standard modern warfare copy paste plus the "I win button" hacking, and the story doesn't seem like they got anything beyond a hobby writer.

To play devils advocate... These agents may exemplify why the future syndicate troopers are mindless drones.

If the story goes the way I think we all expect it to go it would be a massive boon to the syndicates to make their future troopers brainless and easy to control
That is a very good point. If you do indeed rage quit against big brother then the mindless drone would appeal better to the Syndicates.

I'm not overly impressed. Your mentor seems like the kind of guy no one would look up to. He kills an innocent lab tech for being in his way? Wow, serious people skills there... The whole suicide hacking thing made me feel like the developers were a bit sick in the head, too. Maybe it's because I enjoy stealth games like Splinter Cell or DE:HR where you're rewarded for fewer kills but it just seemed unnecessary and cruel. I kind of hope there's an option to hack into peoples' minds and make it so they either don't see you or simply ignore you.

Which brings me to the hacking in general: it seems far too easy at the moment. I realize that pulling up a minigame in the middle of combat would break flow like nothing else not to mention be a bit stupid within context, but I feel there needs to be some kind of challenge to it. Heck, even requiring line of sight would make it a bit more complex.

The gameplay itself seems alright, if a bit uninspired. Amid the current ocean of first person shooter titles on the market you really need to do something new and different to be recognized and from what little I've seen, this game does not do so.

It's certainly got some interesting ideas, though. The augmented reality HUD looks rather impressive and is actually what I expected Human Revolution to do. It almost reminds me of the Dead Space HUD in a way but adapted to the feel of this game. The gauss rifle with tracking bullets seems like an interesting idea as well.

Perhaps it's simply not my type of game but I'll keep an eye on in nonetheless.
