My Xbox 360 profile is saved onto the console itself. I was wondering if it's possible to transfer that profile onto a new console. I might be moving out soon, so it would be nice to take my profile with me so that I'll be able to import my characters for games like Mass Effect 3. Does anyone know if it's possible?

Absolutely. In fact, if your 360 is up-to-date you can transfer your entire profile to a USB drive now. I keep my profile and any saves for games I'm currently playing on a USB stick so that I can carry it between any of the three 360 units I use without having to constantly recover my gamertag.

Or if your like me you can try, and end up wiping your HDD to smithereens.

EDIT: Although it was HDD to HDD not HDD to USB

Ouch...dare I ask how you managed that? Knowing might help the OP avoid the same accidental erasure.

Apparently, if you plug a transfer kit into a pc it screws your HDD. And it did -.- ( I thought you could transfer to PC?)
