Travel tips, Paris.

Hey guys, I'm trying to plan a trip to Paris, I've looked at sites and got a few ideas, but i wanted to ask the Escapist if anyone has any good ideas on what to do in Paris, (apart from the obvious) which hotel to book, and any tips you guys and girls have will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Also, i know of the attacks, but i was trying to plan this trip before, so that hasn't changed my mind. Thanks again guys.

Also, also. I'm well aware Paris will be a pricey city, but the cheaper tips, the better

Never been to Paris, but apparently when tourists go to the Louvre, they see the Mona Lisa, and maybe the Venus de Milo, and that's it. It's a pretty big gallery, there are more than two piece of art in there that might be worth seeing.

Don't mention the war - any of them. Please be aware that you can also see uncensored porno mags on the store shelves. Get lots of walking in and see the beauty of the city, but try out the subway system too. Pretty much what Bitter_Angel said, really. Ask any helpful tour guides about quieter out-of-the-way places that aren't regularly packed with visitors, because Paris must be as bad as central London in that respect.

Also check out the Musee D'orsay, probably the best collection of impressionist art in the world and a first class cafeteria to boot. Also take a day to go to Versailles. It's accessible by train and more than worth it.
