So I recently found myself in Orlano,Fl for vacation. On my way back I was randomly selected for additional screening. I was led to a three sided plexiglass container where they asked to swab my hands. They told me I had set off the alarm. I still don't know what was on my hands, all I know is that it was a chemical alarm. so they asked me which bags were mine, I told them without being dickish about it. They were treating me respectfully so I did the same. After they checked my bags they pulled me out of the container. They said they have to give me the advanced pat down. Now let me interupt my story really quickly. I'm from Casper, Wyoming, my comfort zone is about five feet. I felt uncomfortable just being in the airport. Now, where were we, oh yes. So this guy gave me the pat down, and to tell you the truth, it didn't bother me, at all. He was extreamly thurough too. So when this was all done I grabed my stuff and on my merry way. So I've waited till now to tell you my phisical characteristics for a reason. Of which I'm actually not that obliged to tell you all. So any way I'm six foot, about 200 lean pounds, and as white as they come.

I don't know mabey its just me but the screening didn't bother me at all.

I've been "randomly selected" almost every time I've been at the airport. My family actually have a joke that they need to leave an extra 30 minutes just so TSA can pat me down. It never fails.
*sigh*

I've only had one... awkward encounter in which I had handcuffs in my carry on. The TSA guy smiled and winked and put them back in. (They were fake metal cuffs, not real.) It was... strange.

I don't fly anymore. Part of that's because I prefer the feel of the open road on a vacation and the other part is that being treated like a criminal in a police state is not my idea of what it means to be an American.

Truth be told, I've been taking a long look at emigration because of stuff like this.

Handcuffs? Really? What were they for?

OT: My mom has always been pulled out for the random selection, and if my mom isn't there, they pick me. Very annoying, especially when your flight is about to begin boarding.

I once had a bag full of books (which show up as dark matter on a scanner) with my DS, mp3 player, and some other electronics go through. It looked like a bomb.

You can carry fake handcuffs on a plane if you wish. It's not illegal.

But long story short, a friend bout the cuffs for me.

I've never really ever had any problems with the TSA or airport security. I was lightly patted down once when I set off the metal detector in Rome (damn Euros!). My only real problem is that there aren't separate lines for people who are accustomed to airport security and can get through quicker.

My brother gets "random" extra screening a fair amount, so I'm glad I'm not brown like he is.

I'm not sure what's scarier to the government---a bomb or someone with the intelligence to read for pleasure.

I once tried to bring spray on deodorant in my hand luggage (out of idiocy, not to fulfill my hijacking needs). The game that pointed it out just laughed about it, and we had a quick chat about a book he saw that was in my bag. Thats my only real encounter with airport security, and it was fine.

Someone with intelligence.

The bomb will just blow you up. The person with intelligence can take over the world using a corporation that can 'donate large amounts of money' to politicians who will 'do as the corporations want so the corporations are really running the world from behind the scenes.

Or I am just paranoid.

I have not had much problem with the TSA or airport security in general, 'cept for that one time I had my portable DVD player, lots of cables to recharge my stuff, my cell phone and my DS, all in my backpack. Looked way to similar to a bomb, even I got scared when I saw the x-ray scanner picture... xD made it all the more fun that the threat level already was at "Orange" when this happened...

I don't fly as much as I used to, and I had a few problems before all these new procedures. Good thing I'm not flying any time soon.

I haven't flown in a while, but I can't imagine it would bother me. I'm a pretty open and social guy, and my dad is in law enforcement, so I find it hard to understand why so many people have to be a dick to the TSA about it.
