Easy enough project here, I'd like to know a TV Show episode or a movie that especially touched you. Also, since its becoming the default setting here on Escapist I am banning any Futurama episode, including Jurassic Bark.
Mine was an episode of the Wonder Years where Kevin has an issue with his math class and his grades. His teacher tutors him after school for the upcoming exam but pulls out before their last few sessions. Kevin confronts his teacher as he is getting into his car and after a slightly heated exchange, the teacher tells him he has an appointment he can't miss and Kevin must "finish on his own", turns from Kevin with the saddest look on his face and drives off. The day of the math test comes and Kevin angrily (teen angst) writes not the answers but a bunch of adolescent "Who cares" and "Whats the point" answers on his test and hands it in after the bell rings making a point to be last. The look of dejection on the teacher's face is heartwrenching. Then Kevin returns to class after a weekend off and finds a new teacher in his math class. He leaves the class to find his teacher and ends up talking to the Vice Principal who after a few deflections tells Kevin his math teacher passed away from a heart condition that weekend. Later he finds out the teacher didn't grade his test and left a blank one with Kevin's name on it as a last goodbye and good luck to his student which Kevin takes this time without his attitude getting in the way.

This episode hit me pretty hard when I was younger because it reminded me of a teacher I had who was a wonderful if strict teacher who passed away. It was like losing a friend, a mentor and I empathized with that episode.

So, think outside your Jurassic Bark box and tell me your story...

This bit from The Neverending Story:

Not the obvious one, where Artax drowns (though that is very powerful, IMHO, especially the bit where Atreyu goes from "Artax has stopped moving" to "Artax has given up and is going to die"). But for me, Rockbiter's speech above why he's given up...yeah, that's much more powerful

Aww man.
The first 2 things that came to mind was the last Futurama episode and the one 2 episodes before last (the one where fry has to explore his memories). They brought me to tears.

SCREW YOUR FUTURAMA BAN.

Oh:

At least in theory. That movie wasn't terribly well regarded, but that bit really, really should have been touching.

The anime series of Elfen Lied, the last few episodes in particular, is incredibly sad and came the closest to making me cry ('Jurassic Bark' and the second 'Scrubs' episode with Brendan Fraser included).

And on the film side of things, 'Platoon' and 'Moonchild' always get me at least a little choked up whenever I watch them.
I can't watch 'Mrs. Doubtfire' ever again because of how depressing I find it.

The episode of Friday Night Lights where Saracen's dad dies...that shit is intense. Zach Gilford should have won an Emmy or two for that episode alone.

On a happier note, the episode of Adventure Time where they sing songs of friendship to open the door of the Door Lords.

Oh, the last bit of "Blackadder goes Forth"

IMHO, the annoying laugh track actually makes it funnier, because people will say something funny, and then follow it up with something tragic and the laughter stops. "Work at Pratt and Sons...marry Doris".

The two huge ones for me are, unsurprisingly from anime.

The first is from Air. It is simply the line
"Can I be done now?".
If there is anyone who is reading this and doesn't get it...you shouldn't be. If you insist...the character asking that is asking her adoptive mother, who went through *hell* to adopt her, if she can give up struggling and die. Yeah.

The second is from Kodomo no Omocha (Child's Toy) which I was fortunate enough to see as fansubs before it was commercially released in entirely screwed up form here in the US. It's kind of involved....

While Sana & her mother are attempting to find Sana's birth mother Sana reveals that she has always been afraid that if they find her birth mother her adoptive mother will want her to leave and go live with her birth mother. After they find her birth mother, her adoptive mother who has been very uncharacteristically silent and serious throughout the whole process begins quietly crying. When asked why, she says it's because she had always been afraid that if they ever found Sana's birth mother Sana might want to leave her and go live with her birth mother.

This motherfucking Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood scene.

Edward's finally found Al's body and realizes that he can do nothing to bring him back right now. He's so close, yet so far, which is so perfectly captured by the hands dragging him back through his own gate while he's reaching out towards Al. Then, he bursts through the closed door to re-assure Al. Add in some well-timed, emotional music and you've got the recipe for one crying kitten (me).

Very easy (even without resorting to Jurassic Bark (which Bender's Big Score took the oomph out of anyway.)

Carnivale episode 6 "Pick a Number"
Creepy, horrifying, unsettling, and sad for numerous reasons... all rolled into one shot and a following reaction shot. 10 - 25 seconds of the most gut-wrenching television ever made.

Also M*A*S*H's "Dreams."

Anybody watching M*A*S*H as much as I did, these are images you can't get out of your head for a while.

Skins: Season 2 Episode 9:

The one where Chris dies really tugs my chords! It comes reletively out of the blue, and he is the most lovable and popular character in the whole thing!

I can't remember anything that hit me as much on TV or Film... although part of that is probably because I read about the Red Wedding before watching it!

Recent anime series i watched which really tugged at me was Angel Beats. The final 4 episodes especially.

Following that the anime film The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. I'm a rather big fan of the series, and seeing the film was a gratifying, if emotionally taxing experience.

Seeing as somebody already took my go-to with Blackadder, I'll have to go to my second choice for semi well known "look at me I'm original for not using Futurama" example. Deep Space Nine, season 4, The Visitor. It takes massive balls to throw an episode like this immediately after the season premiere that had a giant space battle. You follow it up with this:

I know I'm late to the party, but I just watched Adventure Time for the first time yday and it really hit me. Everyone is so upbeat! Jake and Finn are the bestest of best buddies.

Breaking Bad-

When Walter poisons Brock; I felt betrayed when I watched that episode-definitely pulled my heart strings. I couldn't believe that he did that.

Mod Edit: Added spoiler tags.

I agree with this one. I was legitimately upset by it.

I second the Visitor.
Damn, that episode will punch you right in the feels, even if you don't like Star Trek it's a very powerful moment of television.

EDIT: And also when littlefoot's mother died in the land before time.
Damn.

What does it mean
This tear jerking scene
Beamed into my home
That it moves me so much
Why all the fuss
It's only two humans being
It's only two humans being
Tears burn my eyes
What does it mean
This tender TV
This tear jerking scene
Beamed into my home
