First, I'd like to point out that the title says TV show, NOT film or movie. Also, don't suggest gameshows because that kinda defeats the point.

I'll start with TV shows --> games:

-------------------------

1. House - Awesome medical drama with Hugh Laurie. I have no idea of quite how you'd go about making a game of it, but I'm sure that it could be extremely awesome. Oh, and I'd want the actual actors for VAs please, especially Hugh Laurie.

2. Doctor Who and Torchwood combined. And I mean a proper game, not that ridiculous disappointment in the form of Top Trumps. I have a vision of a whole series of levels that correspond to the individual episodes, and it all overlaps, e.g. you can't play the Torchwood levels until after DW Doomsday, and you can't play the DW Utopia level until after completing both DW Blink and TW End of Days. I think that completing each level should unlock that level as a sort of sandbox area with massive explorability (controlling an unlocked character of your choice) to find hidden stuff etc. You know what, I should write this down and send it to the BBC. Idea (c) Sorceror Nobody, do not steal.

3. Pokemon. Ha ha, just kidding.

-------------------------

Now a couple for games --> TV shows:

-------------------------

1. Kingdom Hearts. I have actually heard rumours of a KH TV show, but nothing seems to have materialised.

2. Pokemon. Heh, no. Wasn't that funny the first time.

Firefly - It would just be pure awesomeness in a disk. Wasn't there some rumour of a firefly MMO going around before anyway?

I think Kingdom Hearts is already a manga, so a TV show wouldn't be a crazy idea.

I'd love to see a TF2 series. Judging by how long it takes for their "Meet the Team" videos, we'd probably have to wait a century or two. But having something like Meet the Spy once a week would be totally worth it.

Game to TV:
I'd have to say Team Fortress 2, if they were allowed to keep it in the style of the "Meet the" videos. Epically funny, it would be.
No More Heroes would be quite fun as well, again if they could keep the style.

The problem with these sorts of things is that there is inevitably a vast amount of adaptation decay.

TV to a game I would have to say either the Prisoner or indeed Dexter. Although Dexter would probably end up as a lazy C.S.I style port! Although with the recent Batman game it would have a chance of being good!

Game to TV what would be the point watching the characters I enjoy interacting with being played by someone who really doesn't capture the characters mannerisms correctly!

Games -> TV
Left 4 Dead could be interesting if they added more people. 4 people moving from one place to another each episode could get very boring, unless they had a shortage of pills and one went crazy...

World of Warcraft has alot of places to visit and characters already to use in a series of some sort, if it wasn't too serious it could be good.

I agree with most posts that TF2 could be awesome.

I'm still waiting for my Stargate FPS...

Also Firefly and Battlestar Galactica. BSG would probably lend itself well to a space-flight sim.

Ratchet and Clank. Gotta agree with that.

I agree with adaption decay too. Henceforth, all suggestions in this thread are subject to the condition that it isn't cocked up in the process.

*sigh* I'm sure there are loads of threads about games of movies and vice versa, which is why I specifically made it clear that this is TV shows not movies. Besides, Dead Space is already based blatantly on a movie. It's called Event Horizon.

Oh! you mean like the stargate's series, the sliders series.... yeah, those shows got really boring after awhile.

... I would think a "Dirty Jobs" game would be kinda of cool. Playing a game that requires you to play lots of different jobs and depending on how or if you suceed in each job gives you points which you can use to increase job related stats.

It doesn't matter which way it goes, the tv show or game would end up horrible. I hated that sonic cartoon and a tv-show based video game would be made by the same people who make the games based off of Nickelodeon and Disney shows.

Personally, I agree that Firefly would make an amazing MMO. It's one of the few MMOs I would actually play, at least. And I really ned to get around to getting the hard-drive space on my laptop to be able to download the Doctor Who adventure games soon.

As for games to TV shows, wasn't there an anime based on Final Fantasy (well, I say 'based'...)? Final Fantasy Ultimate, I believe it was called. And I'd quite like to see a decent TV series, animated though (not live-action), of Halo. Mirror's Edge would be a pretty decent TV series too, and they could even film it in 3D with James Cameron's cameras and make an actually decent 3D TV series! Rather than the half-assed 3D football and rugby they keep trying to put out in the pubs and on Sky Sports now... :p

I'd quite like to see Sanctuary, Legend of the Seeker or Burn Notice turned in to games, and I'd love to see the Quest For Glory (So You Want To Be A Hero) games turned in to tv shows. Or movies.

Not sure what I want to see what tv show i want to be a game. But for what game I want to be a tv show I would say I want Marvel vs Capcom 3. From watching the trailers that would be so awesome to watch a tv series.

Manhunt: The Animated Series

TV show to game? I vote a point-and-click adventure based on BBC drama New Tricks.
Or Spooks. Spooks would be good too.

Game to TV show? Phoenix Wright. I'm certain it already exists in Japan, too.
