Hello!

I've a budget of £1000, and I'd like to hear your opinions and suggestions on good gaming laptops!
I'd be willing to push past the £1000 budget warranting the extra is absolutely worth paying for, but no more than, say, and an extra £200 tops.

Thanks in advance!

I can offer the reverse, try to avoid MSI if you can!

I got the MSI GE60 last year, as an impulse yeahmadeittouniversity purchase (Mistake!!) it was really good for about a month (albeit quite loud).

Then, i had problem after problem with various hardware failures, glitches in the OS that reinstalling windows did nothing to help with.

And then the fan packed up - i tried to return it but according to them it was 'My fault' for tampering despite the fact the seal was still on the base! (I would have had to have broken in to unscrew the base). Poking around various articles and forums ended up revealing that this was

They wanted over £150 to ship it to them and repair it which was money i simply didn't have.

So yeah, now i have a big black and red £800 paperweight!

Two of my old collage friends had laptops custom made for them by this site https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/ and i got my tower made with them too. Might be worth a look! As far as i know they are both happy with what they got - Custom built also gives you the advantage of getting your own cooling system, most branded built in ones (At least MSI does) tend to be sub-par

Yeah I recommend them as well. I got a sweet gaming laptop for just under a grand, and it works great. I had a problem with the sound drivers, but I sorted it out eventually.

Apparently most of their laptops are Clevo base units (whitebook/barebone laptops), same as the ones Sager and the like sell, which are fantastic if you can find one for a price you're willing to pay.

Add usual caveats for gaming laptops...

So glad no one has entered the thread and said something like "Don't buy a laptop blah blah, get a desktop blah blah".

I can't really help, as my gaming laptop was made by an Australia company.

I love my gaming laptop. Allows me to play PC games if I'm travelling for work or something. Allows me to play games on the couch in the lounge room while my SO is watching TV.
