Ultimate Final Fantasy...

I've recently got back into RPG mode and decided to dig out some classics for the PS2. Began playing Final Fantasy 8-which in my opinion is the best of the selection.
But im pretty sure a load of you will think FF7 if you've had the chance to play it. Just wondered what those of you lucky enough to play it thought was the greatest?

It's a tie between IV and IX. I do like my linearity in the Final Fantasy franchise.

Bluntly: No. It's pretty poor. Personally, I don't the real time battle, or the characters, or the story..... Sorry, but it's how I feel about it.

Ten had such an interesting story and it was told so well, it is definetley my favorite and I've played nine, seven, twelve, X-2, and eight.

yeah i loved it and still do, alot of fun good gameplay-awesome story.

the only downside for me is that most enemies look-alike but with different colors and or names.

For me it's a toss up between VI and X. I didn't like VII as much as I liked those two.

True, X was such a good story line and the characters were great! Just waiting for (is it 12?) the one for 360 at some point...

You're my kind of people, X is without a doubt the best. The ending was a little sad though = (. But I liked the whole story.

I liked X, X-2, XII, XII-Dirge of cerberus(I knooooow >.>) and the original final fantasy.
And 3 was pretty good. (the actual 3rd installment. not the one released in america as 3. The 3 on DS.)

The best is Final Fantasy X and the second-best is Final Fantasy X-2.

It could be added that turn-based combat is extremely much better in my book.
