So I was all set to go and preorder my copy of Harry Potter 7 Blu-Ray/Digital Copy when I noticed that it had received a large amount of 1 star reviews. I started reading the reviews, wondering just what they could be so mad about in regards to the last Harry Potter (which I love). Every single 1 star review was talking about something called "UltraViolet," a digital copy system used primarily by Warner Bros. that seems to be cloud based. All of the reviews said that it was a broken site that only works when it's in a good mood and even then only if you've given it compliments and a back massage. (I may be remembering that wrong...)

Does anyone know anything about this UltraViolet system and could help shed some light on why it is so negatively reviewed?

When you go and buy something like that, are you actually thinking that you're paying for the digital copy of the film? I ask because personally, I'd rather have the physical disc in my hands, and subsequently, in my Blu-Ray player. Skip the digital copy altogether, and you'll be just fine.

I've also noticed that some films are being released on DVD/Blu-Ray/digital copy, in one package. To me, this makes near to no sense. Anyway... as I said, you can pretty much skip the digital copy once you have the physical copy in your hands.

Basically, the thing is your not actually getting a digital copy of the film. You are just getting the option of streaming it from a service that no one's ever heard of. I don't really get the whole digital copy thing, is someone ripping their own DVD's so they can watch them on their iPod that big of deal? I mean, it's even worse with these "Ultraviolet" copies since you can't even take them wherever you want...
