What exactly are Uncanny Valley moments in games and give me examples from some of your?gaming experiences.
Kinda like how when someone appears to be drinking something yet the glasses content remains unchanged. Not exactly uncomfortable but weird.JRCB said:The Uncanny Valley is where something tries to appear realistic but doesn't get it quite right, so it is clearly fake and makes us uncomfortable (from what I've taken from it).
No examples come to mind right now.
No, it mostly has to do with things that look like humans.Darth Rahu said:Kinda like how when someone appears to be drinking something yet the glasses content remains unchanged. I can't pick the seiyuu, but I know that voice from several anime. That thing is too creepy. The chobits aren't too far away!DeadlyYellow said:Any Bioware game involving a conversation sequence, along with any of Bethesda's recent works.
As for real life, stumbling upon the Actroid on the internets.
Agreed. The mouth movements were totally off half the time, made them look like they all had broken jaws. Creepy as hell. Also, robot walking on the stairs. Also, the children all sounded terrible. And the next person I hear pronouncing "origami" like an asshole is going to get punched in the back of the head. I think I'll go replay it.cubikill said:Almost the entire game of Heavy Rain. Don't get me wrong I really liked that game, but no one looked quite right. Also the voice acting didn't help. There were some moments in Mass Effect, but I didn't have them in Mass Effect 2.
