This might seem like I'm trying to sound more intellectual than I actually am, but I really honestly want to get some examples of new places to explore.
I feel like there are certain cultures that are simply under appreciated in the western world. I know some we really extol the virtues of in an almost naive way, as I feel we do with Japan, but I want to hear about the ones that people have experienced that they feel are not given the due respect that they deserve.
For me, I feel like Korean culture is not as highly valued as the distinct entity that it is. I mean, I won't go wearing a Hanbok to work or anything, but I do appreciate that it is a culture distinctly different from China and Japan, which tend to overshadow its richness.
