I crave n64 games but I don't want the usual suspects (ocarina of time, goldeneye, re2, etc). What are some other, quality, lesser known games (like gex <3) that I could play.

Ogre Battle 64, Jet Force Gemini, Winback: Covert Ops are three of my favorite games from the system that don't get nearly as much attention as they deserve.

Jet Force Gemini was god damn amazing.
Also, Donkey Kong 64 was awesome, check that one out OP!
I also really liked Bomberman 64 for some reason.

It's stupid and simplistic, but I liked Doom 64 and think it has good atmosphere.
Body Harvest
Oh, and it's hardly underrated, but play Conkers Bad Fur Day if you missed it.

You beat me to Ogre battle and Winback. Never played Jet Force Gemini though.

Goldeneye, it was underplayed because no matter how much you played it, it's greatness was still underplayed :D

MYSTICAL NINJA STARRING GOEMON.

Seriously, if nothing else, that. It's a great adventure game, and occasionally funny as hell.

Other recommendations...well, I'm assuming by Ocarina of Time, you're also including "don't recommend Majora's Mask." If not, then Majora's Mask. Also, Pokemon Snap, Donkey Kong 64, Star Wars Episode I Racer, Banjo-Kazooie, Wave Race 64, Star Fox 64, and Gauntlet Legends.

Also, Flying Dragon. It's not an especially well-made game, but I had fun with it. Similarly, Quest 64.

Just a rant here about this... Goldeneye was in no way underplayed. I understand your point; it was a good game. But in my opinion, it was vastly over-rated. Nightfire was a lot better, IMO. But, to each man his own... Either way, Goldeneye was in no way underplayed, I assure you.

Earthworm Jim 64; I suspected it to be popular, but I have yet to meet a single human being who has played it yet.

Vigilante 8 for the N64 was another game that other people seemed to think never existed.

For a lot of games, when it came down to PS1 vs N64 (such as Vigilante 8), I perfered the N64

Depends on what you like, personally I suggest Kirby and the crystal shards, as well as harvestmoon 64

I love both of you. :D Those three games are pure win.

But to add, Wipeout 64. One of the most fun racing games I've ever had.

Both Battletanx games. My gods they were awesome.
