Underrated Movie Villains

Lately I've been thinking about villains, especially one's of cinema. Now I've seen many great "Greatest Movie Villains" lists that included memorable characters like Hannibal Lecter, HAL 9000, T-1000, Annie Wilkes, Nurse Ratched, Norman Bates, the Wicked Witch of the West, the Joker (Nicholson & Ledger), and the numerous killers from great slasher films.

However, we all know that there are so many amazing movie villains that are usually forgotten about by the general public. Whether the movie didn't come out in theaters, wasn't popular, or people just forgot about it many of us have in our mind several villains we think are pure evil; many official, unofficial, and fan-made lists exclude them. Well I say enough!

Thread: Who do you think is an underrated movie villain and why?
Rules:
1) Please give the name of your underrated villain, who played them, and the movie they are from.
2) Why do you think they're underrated? For example:

My choice: Archibald Cunningham (Tim Roth) from Rob Roy
The movie came out when "Braveheart" was topping Box Office charts, not only was this film ignored by many, they missed out on (in my opinion) the best sword fight and most underrated villain of all-time, Archibald Cunningham. Roth plays a viciously wicked aristocrat that spends the wealth of others; seduces women for sex, then tosses them away like trash; a rapist; a murder; and highly skilled in sword fighting. He cares about nothing/nobody, but his own sick, twisted desires and he takes great pleasure in every act of evil he commits throughout the film. Why? He enjoys it.

It would be a disservice for me to tell you all the horrible things things he does (you must watch the film), but I will leave you all with the clip of when the young maiden he slept with (Betty), tells him that she is pregnant with his child.

M. Bison, played by the awesome Raul Julia in the gods awful Street Fighter with Van Damme.

Everything about that movie was pure shite. Except for Julia. He was absolutely evil, but did so with the class and elegance that you'd expect from an actor of his caliber.

I never saw the Street Fighter movie growing up, but I did watch the Addams Family movie (1991) and thought he played a GREAT Gomez Addams.

BTW, OF COURSE!

Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men. Gets credit for the role, but not enough.
He won an Oscar for the role. I think that's the exact opposite of underrated.

Alan Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Very few movies have a bad guy that you absolutely love to hate.

Brigadier General Francis Hummel from The Rock. Just cause his message was clear, and yet he never even intended to do what he would. he was a patriot, and was still able to control himself, even though most look at him and think he's a girl.

Immediately I think Sean Bean as Alec Trevelyan from GoldenEye. For some reason I thought he played a pretty good villain, plus it was the first time a 00 agent besides Bond had a significant role in the movies.

He was thoroughly overshadowed by James Earl Jones' far more famous work as Vader, of course, and consigned to permanent obscurity by the Conan franchise's self-inflicted collapse at the hurdle of its first sequel. But pound for pound, I'd still rank Thulsa Doom as one of the most entertaining screen villains.

Amon Goeth (Schindler's List): Hans Landa from Inglourious Basterds is a more popular choice for "best villains" list, because he's comfortably fictional and there aren't real hordes of crypto-neo-nazis and witless goth girls idolizing him on YouTube. But the fact that he was based on a real guy makes him a million times more chilling.

(No YouTube link for this one, cf. the aforementioned YouTube witlessness.)
Speaking of YouTube witlessness, it looks like NBC got Conan as well.

The Big Nothing had Alice Eve as the bad guy. Maybe not most underrated, but almost definitely the hottest

Now tell me what exactly makes her a great villain, in your opinion? I've never heard of "The Big Nothing" sounds interesting.

Well, it's because she's secretly in control of everything when no one really realises. I can't really go further into it without ruining the film. It's a good film, a bit flawed here and there, but funny as hell. Sort of a cross between a Guy Richie movie and Shaun of the Dead...

The Violator from the Spawn animated series. Actually any villain from that series, they are all great. Not a movie I know but it doesn't get enough credit.

Now I know there was a Spawn movie that came out and the Violator was in the film.
