Hello everyone, its not often I post here, but when I do, I usually have something I really want to talk about. And today, that thing is Undertale. An indie game that is currently garnering extremely positive press from all around the web, and even including a 10/10 from Jim Sterling himself.

After playing through the game twice, I can wholeheartedly agree with the notion that this game will undoubtedly be a game of the year. Its just so good...As of writing this, I'm unsure that I have the prowess to describe the game without completely bumbling and spoiling the magic of it. What I will say is, this game deserves to have more time in the spotlight. It currently is the top rated PC game on Metacritic and continues to gain more positive press as more and more people find out just what this game is.

To everyone that is a fan of Earthbound, the Mother series, a Compelling story, and 4th wall breaks that outshine Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid, and Scarecrow from Arkham Asylum. This is a game you MUST play.

Everything you need to know about the game can be found here: http://undertale.com/about.htm It should give you a better feel for the game than anything that I can say.

Steam tags seem to do it justice

Will also just state, it's one of the few games I'm willing to buy for others to so they can experience it, added to not wanting to spoil it at all. Heck, I've never done that to any other game I've played.

It is pretty hard to try and explain this game.
My half-cooked attempt is: it's a playful game.

The inconsistent graphics, the all over the place soundtrack, the funny writing, the constantly shifting gameplay mechanics, the constant building and subversion of expectations, the tons over tons of hidden things that invite experimentation, the naive childlike characters, the possibility of things going horribly wrong...
It's playful in every single aspect of its being, fitting every definition of "playful".

So, if you're okay with a playful game, you WILL get something out of this.
It is incredibly hard not to.
