Unexpected Freebies

So I opened a case of coke today and the first one I pulled up was a totally empty can. The tab was still attached, the can still closed, no holes, no sticky dried soda, nothing. I started thinking about how the empty can made it all the way to packaging without some QC picking it up.

Anyway its those fun little surprises that put put a smile on your face and make your day more interesting. So tell me what kinds of small, unexpected things have you experienced. What kinds of small surprises have you found when you've opened a package and wondered "How the hell did that get in there" or "Where the did it go?" What are your empty cans of Coke?

I purchased a can of Coke out of a machine and three cans fell out. Awesome day that was!

When I originally bought WoW, I noticed it was incorrectly marked at 10$, otherwsie I wouldn't of purchase it, so I brought it up to the register. The cashier scanned the game, 60$ came up on the cash register. She looked at the price, looked at the marked price, and shook her head and tapped in 10$ (This was barely a month after launch), I got the game went home, and stupidly realised I needed a game card to activate it. So I went out, bought a game card, came back and when I took it out of the box, there were two game cards stuck together. Both worked.

I guess I'm lucky when it comes to WoW.

Well, my brother bought a 6 pack of some sort of beer, and they looked at the top of them and they had differnet bottle caps, some of them being ones that they wantred to try for ages, they thought to themselves "sweet, I always wanted to try this"... it turns out the brand just puts on random bottle caps for advertising there othre beers...

Still made them buy the other stuff though... And was pretty cool.

In my experience, boxes are usually empty, or maybe with a little cheese stuck to the top. And one time, pepperoni. What a day that was!

My friend decided out of the blue I needed 3 more 360 games and bought me Forza 3, Batman: AA and Borderlands over 2 months.
I still need to pay him back.

EDIT: Misread but still stands. It was unexpected.
I also once got a Kitkat Chunky which was all chocolate, not a wafer inside it and also got a shit load of hair in a Wotsit. Still ate the rest of them though.

A vending machine at my college reads a 5 dollar bill as a 2 dollar bill, so if you order something less than a dollar, you get your 5 back, the the food, and change!

Cant keep having Futurama cookies, they are worthless! Everyone knows them!

But ironically coincidentally, the best surprise is similar. I'm talking about finding onion rings in your french fries at a Burger king.

Coincidentally, when I crossed out ironically in my edit it made me remember another Futurama quote. "It's not ironic it's coincidental!"

Being that coca-cola originated in atlanta, georgia, USA. I am not surprised that QC didn't pick up on anything (if a company that sells something of questionable quality with no nutritional value from a neighbor of alabama in the USA even has QC).

I once had a stranger at an expensive restaurant in an airport pay for my meal while I was traveling in uniform. I actually teared up, after so many years of feeling like no one gave a shit anymore, it was simply beautiful. In return, I paid for his when I left.

even though my job is a swirling vortex of hate, I take solace that there's small perks that I get from it here and there: free hot chocolate, free sweet n low for my coffee, free computer hardware when the company is getting ready to throw it out, free cables (usb, vga, etc) when I need them, I got my own desk phone that I can use as much as I want, an unbound, unfiltered internet connection to browse to my heart's content, etc. As much as I hate this place, I do have to admit, the perks ARE nice.
