1) Fight Club is fucking awesome. ( I have never seen it before)

2) Males can get thrush and taking antibiotics apparently helps it develop. (BTW its shit)

So I present to you The Escapist.

What are some unfortunate or unexpected side effects to medicine or drugs that you have taken?

Search Bar checked

1. Yes. Yes it is.

2. What the fuck is thrush?

And the only medicine I ever take is naproxin sodium and Tetrahydrocannabinol.

And only the last one has the side effect of increased appetite.

I mostly avoid medicine because of side effects. That, and I watched SLC Punk as a kid and it scarred me.

Sad to hear it. You have this stranger's condolences.

OT: I can think of when I used "happy pills". They didn't really make me happy, and when I decided they didn't help out, I had to drop down slowly for 6 months, or I'd turn into a motherfucking wreck...
Or so I like to call "chronically depressed state" as.

I wiki'd it, and I'm glad I did. Google image search could have gotten me in trouble here at work, sir.

But yeah, I'd never heard it called that, but I get ya now. Sorry. U_U

And I'm not 30-ish. I'm 30. Damnit. T_T

...I was not told this. I'm taking the combined pill and suffer migraines.

welp, it was nice knowing you guys!

I've just started some new medication and I've got chattering, hand shaking, nausea and could have hallucinations and this medication causes all sorts of other things. I sound like I'm detoxing and I'm only going on!

I remember reading the back of a packet of mints once, and it said that eating too many of them can cause them to act as a laxative...

Thank you. And I know how you feel about happy pills, I was on them too for a while. They made me feel completely numb, I couldn't feel sadness, happiness or anger. Most of the time I just stared off into space and sat there like a zombie. Made me look grey too. I stopped taking them and dealt with my problems myself, it's the only way you can.

Ummm...

Apparently, you can get diabetes for no goddamn reason whatsoever.
Eating a whole packet of Soothers/liquid-filled throat soothers sends your whole throat and the back of your mouth numb, meaning a couple of hot drinks can be sculled before it wears off.

I only ever take NSAIDs (Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Paracetamol etc.) so the side effects are usually limited to minor gastric bleeding.

Best side effect I know of is Clomipramine which causes roughly 5% of users to spontaneously orgasm when sneezing.

Mi Goreng is a nasal-decongestant and provides almost as much energy as a can of Red Bull, at a fraction of the cost, as well as being a cheap and delicious snack.
For all intents and purposes, it's perfect.

I learned the hard way that donating blood in the morning, being on painkillers for an unrelated injuiry earlier and hitting the booze hard makes for a fun night out, that will end up with you crawling through airducks, looking for rooms with good acoustics to sing really loudly in. :D It will also ruin your suit, and give you the mother of all hangovers.

Som bullet wounds used to make you die of poisoning rather than blood loss. If I referenced that wrong watch 'Three Kings' and correct me.

Letting Flourine out in room temperature can make it explode.

If there is a large quantity of cornflower in the air in a confined space (thin, floaty cornflour.) It will explode if it is lit. A custard factory exploded this way wince someone walked inside with a ciggarette.

Not really medical side effects, but unexpected effects none the less.
