This is basically a thread to promote that unknown band or artist you love that deserves recongnition.

Artists you think deserve the attention that they don't quite have yet.

Here's mine:

I love finding new unknown bands, let me know who you guys have discovered

Viza. I would link a video but youtube doesn't work at school and I can't be bothered finding a proxy server. Look them up though, really worth a listen, particularly the album "Tran-Siberian Standoff" which is also a song with a great music video. Seriously, look them up, really worth your time.

Living Legends and Zion I tend to be toward the better edge of Rap music, which even though that isn't really high for the most part, these two are awesome.

Caravan Palace.
They've recently been to the US, but there were less than 50 people at their show in Philly.

Don't make me try and explain...I'm not even sure how to describe them.

Pirate-themed Symphonic Black Metal at its best.
I like this.

Here's mine. The Axis of Perdition - Silent Hill inspired industrial/black metal. They've got some more melodic/ambient stuff too.

I always love spreading some Devo love (they're not terribly unknown, but I can't resist)
I've also recently stumbled upon Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, if you enjoy early Bauhaus or Sisters of Mercy, you should enjoy these guys. These guys are rather unknown.

The La's - Liverpool band of the early 90's. Would have become massive had it not been for the fact that their frontman/genius Lee Mavers was a total headcase.
Neutral Milk Hotel - American band of the mid 90's. Would have become massive had it not been for the fact that their frontman/genius Jeff Mangnum was a total headcase.
The Stone Roses - Mancester band of the early 90's. Why they didn't conquer the world like they should have done is a topic that still vexes British music fans to this day.
Gogol Bordello - Modern band that some of you may heard of. Part Ukranian Gypsy Folk/Punk/Ska/Reggae/Dub band that sound like S.O.A.D would have done had they been as talented as everyone initially supposed they were. Plus they are not emo, which is always a benefit.

It's called avant-garde metal. Excellent list by the way!

Well, I would say that anything ever made by Zeitgeister Music is criminally underrated and deserves more respect and recognition.
