Further proof, if any be needed, that Australia is the WORST place in the developed world to be a gamer. As if it wasn't bad enough that we get hit with hideous release delays, don't get a lot of games AT ALL, get ridiculously price gouged on every game, CD and DVD we buy and have crappy internet which makes it hard to play online games with overseas gamers, we have to put up with this kind of garbage. It's as if Jack Thompson was part of the government rather than just being a disbarred moron who people just point to and laugh at. Yahtzee can call it the "Having The Nicest Beaches Tax", but I don't go to the beach and either way it's beyond a fucking joke.

Fuck the government.

1. This is fucking retarded. The Australian government has banned the sale of all MMO's...
2. Don't they realize that all this will accomplish is a higher piracy rate?
3. Again, this is fucking retarded.

WoW banned from Australia? *starts to party* oh hang on... completely?

Looks like New Zealand will have a massive jump in the sales of WoW then...
Why would their sales go up just because ours might go down...
Australia will start buying MMOs from New Zealand, Just like Germany buys violent games from Austria...

Yeah lets not get into that again. I was suspended last time.

I'm 18 years old and I've only ever met 2 people who have actually been to New Zealand.
But none of this matters anymore as MMOs will never be banned here.

This just in: In a shocking move yesterday, the Australian government announced that they are banning the sale and use of fun in the country. Retailers caught selling fun will be subject to legal action and confiscation of all their stock of fun. Users of fun will also be tracked down and be subject to several years in prison.

Strong fines are also going to be enforced with this "War on Fun," wherein those caught in possession of fun items will be fined anywhere from 1 million to 100 million bajillion dollars, and double that for those with the intent to sell fun.

Politicians urge residents to not purchase anything that could be considered part of the contraband, and insist that everyone go home, lock their doors, and start memorizing their dictionaries.
