I plan on buying the Unreal Anthology, because i'd love to be able to play them all again- and just wondering, does anyone still play Unreal Tournament 2004?

There are some people that still play UT2K4. At time of posting (a Saturday night, GMT) I estimate around 800 people are on right now from the server lists.

From what I've heard, the UT2k4 userbase tried UT3, didn't like it, then went back to UT2k4. I'd say yes, but it's probably all instagib/rocket launcher/flak cannon spamming, which is the reason why I quit playing in the first place.

UT99 is also still played nowadays, but it's nearly all instagib.

The best game in the anthology imo, is Unreal 1. The single player is godly.

Mrr...really should try 04 again, 3 was massively disappointing, though the toolset was pretty snazzy. Favorite map from 04 though was the Command & Conquer maps, Mammoth Tanks, Tesla Tanks, Hinds, awesome :3

UT2k4 is way better than U3. Wayyyyyy better.
True, but above all is UT99, UT2k4 and UT3 can't even come close to the adrenaline rushing deathmatches of the original UT99. I say vehicles screwed it all up, and the map design wich came with it (to accomodate them).

I still play 2k4 and 99. I like 99 best, but 2k4 is fun too.

Really? Because when I go online, there are plenty of servers for every game mode.

My advice: Buy it.

Is it wrong that I actually like UT3?

Anyway, I play UT2K4 more, and that still has some good deathmatch servers.

UT99 I don't play online anymore, but it still stands up.

UT3, well, I did the campaign on hard or whatever it was called (veteran or that hardest difficulty) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I refuse to play it online because of the retarded login garbage, and I do play with a couple friends over LAN...but it really feels like one of those "new" FPS games, where everything being shiny and pretty actually makes me play worse since I can barely tell people's extravagant armor from the scenery.

My friend owns the Unreal Anthology and he's thoroughly pleased with his purchase. :)

UT3 is okay. Personally, I prefer 2k4 over it, though. I own UT3 on the Xbox 360, and 2k4 for the PC, so maybe it's my preferred control scheme(PC keyboard and mouse) that makes it better in my opinion.
But until I've played UT3 on the PC, I guess we can't know that for sure, eh?

I think for lack of a better word, the Unreal Tournament franchise is completely and utterly DEAD!
After 1 bad game...
Please lookup the formal definition of a recession.

From what I heard, most people don't like UT3 because the removal of assult (which was a reinstatement to 2K4 after an absence in 2K3.) Personally, I'd hate that too. Warfare was meant to be a replacement to it, but it's really just onsluaght with a stalemate-killer added. Bombing run was also removed, not that it was as popular, but it wasn't as bad as, say, mutant.
Hopefully, someone could remake them. I'd give it a shot once I get a computer.
