Uplay has a number of gift games for PC

Just got Assassin's Creed 3 for PC for free from Uplay. Already got it for PS3. Beyond Good and Evil too. Also picked up The Crew. I cannot complain.

Nice to have yet another PC gaming download option. Hope this gets to some people that can make use of it.

Uplay made me unable to play games I bought.

I was having to download cracks for legally purchased games just to make them function.

Uplay is a rancid heap of shit and can fuck right off, no matter how many ancient and/or shit games they try to give away.

Hmmm. I've some good experiences with them but Beyond Good and Evil was unplayable. And Assassin's Creed 3 just crashed on me. I thought it my fault. Yikes.

Ah, yes, but the problem there is that you have to deal with Uplay to get them, and to be perfectly frank I'd rather floss with rusty barbed wire than force that garbage onto my PC.

Gotta side with the majority sentiment in this thread.

I love me some free stuff, but having to deal with Uplay makes 'free' lose its luster.

I don't really feel like reinstalling Uplay just for a few mediocre Ubisoft games, but one thing I can say is... "works on my machine"

I had just killed my first target. Then boom.

[Beyond Good and Evil] became playable for me when I turned on and maxed out all the advanced settings. But I kept the resolution at 1920x1440, since the game doesn't have widescreen. The Steam version is equally broken at a first glance.

I'll likely give it another shot. Once you "buy" a game, typically you can uninstall/ reinstall as you like. As long as the service still exists. Games for Windows, I'm looking at you.

Beyond Good and Evil is a decent game. Which i bought in retail long ago. Uplay is one of the worst stores/portals for games out there.
